âWhat does a chiropractor do with babies?â
Letâs start with what I donât do. I donât âcrackâ babies, and there are no quick jolts that you might be used to seeing in chiro videos online.

Sometimes theyâre laying on the table, but more often than not, theyâre treated in my lap because theyâre often more settled this way.
Adjustments are done through sustained pressure. Iâm feeling for areas that are tense, and lingering there.
Stretching and strengthening is also a big part of the treatment. Iâm looking for asymmetries or preferences, and using various techniques to achieve more balance.
Unless we catch baby at a bad time with their naps or feeds, theyâre typically very happy throughout the treatment. Itâs not uncommon for a baby to sleep through or fall asleep while Iâm treating them.
When you see paediatric chiro in action, itâs really the furthest thing from scary. Treatments are gentle, interactive, and effective (if I do say so myself!)
