Did you hear? 🎉

The Pharmacy Plus PEI program was recently expanded to include strep throat testing and treatment as part of sore throat assessments.

➡Since not all sore throats are strep, a pharmacist will assess symptoms to determine whether testing is required.

Check out the list of common ailments and conditions that pharmacists can assess!

All residents of PEI with a current health card are eligible to receive these services through the Pharmacy Plus PEI Program.

When you’re admitted to a PEI hospital, your care team begins planning the path that best supports your recovery. Sometimes that means being transferred to another Island hospital where the care you need is available. 🌿🏥

Your team will keep you and your loved ones informed, coordinate with the receiving hospital so they’re fully up to speed on your health history, and ensure your care continues smoothly. If you’ve completed the acute phase of treatment, a transfer can help you receive the right level of support in the right place.

For those awaiting long term care, you may be offered the first available bed that meets your needs, with priority given to move you closer to home when a spot opens. 💛
