UPDATE (Oct 26 at 1:30pm): Mr. MacDonald has been located safe and unharmed.

CPS would like to thank Prince Edward Island Ground Search and Rescue for their quick response and thorough efforts. We also appreciate the response from the community and the genuine support that's been shown.

(Oct 26 at 10:30am): Our investigation remains ongoing and we are following up on all tips and leads.

Ground Search and Rescue has also resumed their efforts and will have a visible presence throughout the city. They will also be knocking on doors advising of their search efforts.

Residents are encouraged to walk their own property and check sheds and outbuildings and report anything unusual to Charlottetown Police Services by calling (902) 629-4064.

(Oct 25 at 7:30pm): Ground Search and Rescue has completed their efforts for today and will resume their work tomorrow morning.

Our investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about MacDonald’s possible whereabouts is asked to contact Charlottetown Police Services at (902) 629-4064.

Prince Edward Island Ground Search and Rescue has been activated by Charlottetown Police Services to help locate 54-year-old Lloyd MacDonald.

It was initially reported that MacDonald was last seen at the Salvation Army on Friday, October 17, 2025, however, after further investigation, his last confirmed whereabouts was the corner of Queen Street and Pond Street on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Be advised that Ground Search and Rescue will begin their search at Queen Street and Pond Street and the surrounding area. Ground Search and Rescue will be knocking on doors advising of their search efforts.

Residents are encouraged to walk their own property and check sheds and outbuildings and report anything unusual to Charlottetown Police Services by calling (902) 629-4064.

The Charlottetown Police Services is requesting the public’s assistance locating 54-year-old Lloyd MacDonald.

Community members, who regularly see MacDonald at appointments and other services, are concerned about his whereabouts and well-being. MacDonald has failed to show up to appointments and other services, which is unusual for him, causing increased concern.

Anyone with information about his possible whereabouts is asked to contact Charlottetown Police Services at (902) 629-4064.

The Confederation Bridge will be closed to traffic Sunday, September 21, from 6 am - 1 pm for the 45th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run.

Along with the bridge closure, there will be a lot of foot traffic in the area and motorists should be aware of their surroundings and slow down.
