You may not realize it, but some common habits might be harming your eyes.

- Rubbing your eyes can introduce bacteria, cause irritation, or even scratch the surface of your eye.

1. Sit up straight - Keep both eyes equidistant from your screen/book
2. Angle your reading - Prop materials up vs. flat on table
3. Good lighting - Use direct light on reading material
4. Keep distance - Not too close! Move it back a few inches
5. Multiple screens? - Keep them at similar distances

Don’t let dry winter air leave your eyes feeling scratchy and irritated—be proactive with our winter eye care tips:

Stay Hydrated: Winter air can be dry, so drink plenty of water to keep your body and eyes hydrated. Use a humidifier at home to add moisture to indoor air and prevent dry eyes.

Protect Your Eyes from UV Rays: Even in winter, the sun’s UV can be harmful, especially with snow glare. Wear sunglasses with UV protection anytime you’re outdoors.

Combat Indoor Heat Dryness: Heating systems can dry out your eyes. Use artificial tears or lubricating eye drops to keep your eyes moist and comfortable.
