On World Cancer Day, we honour the dedicated healthcare teams at the QEH who deliver safe, precise cancer care every day, as well as the donors whose generosity helps us fund the advanced tools that make that care possible.

One of the tools funded this past year is Solid Water HE, an advanced material used in radiation therapy. Solid Water HE mimics the way radiation moves through the human body, allowing medical physicists to test and calibrate radiation equipment to help clinicians deliver precise doses to patients.

While it works quietly behind the scenes, Solid Water HE plays a vital role in treatment planning and quality assurance. It supports the accuracy of care, reduces risks, and helps ensure each patient receives the most effective therapy possible.

Each year before Christmas, employees of the APM Group of Companies nominate the charities and non-profits that have significant personal meaning to them, as part of their Annual 12 Days of APM Christmas Giving Campaign.

We were incredibly honoured to accept donations of $1,000 each to Mental Health and Addictions Care and to the Provincial Cancer Treatment Centre at the QEH. A heartfelt thank you to APM MacLean for supporting our Island community! 🧡

In October, A Touch of Gold in Montague hosted its 3rd annual Ladies Night Out event, raising $1,335 in support of breast cancer care at the QEH. 🧡

A heartfelt thank you to owners Jennifer Scott and Ashley Ramsay, along with their staff, for organizing such a warm and generous event. And thank you to all the women who came out to enjoy a fun evening while supporting an important cause!
