Sarah Carr Psychological Services Carr Psych provides psychological and counselling services to Islanders aged 10+.

Sarah Carr Psychological Services (CarrPscyh) is a private psychology practice in Charlottetown, PE. We are a team of Registered Psychologists, Counselling Therapists and Masters Students who aim to provide evidence-based, effective clinical care for our clients. Our clinicians are passionate, engaged, growth oriented, non-judgmental, and professional. All clinical service providers at the practice are licensed to provide psychological or psychotherapy services in Prince Edward Island or are supervised by a licensed provider.

We are happy to share that we will be offering multiple group therapies in 2026. These will include a Women's PTSD Recovery Group, a Men's PTSD Recovery Group, and an Anxiety Management Group.

These will begin in January 2026 and will be led by mental health professionals.

These groups will cover topics such as:

We are pleased to announce that starting in January 2026, we will begin our Anxiety Group Management Program.

Here are the details:

The Easing Worries Anxiety Group is a 10-week skills-based course offering evidence-based anxiety management techniques by a licensed mental health professional.

This group involves:
-Understanding anxiety and its impact
-Identifying triggers and managing stress
-Building mindfulness and relaxation techniques
-Challenging negative thinking patterns
-Engaging in exposures

This group is for adults seeking effective strategies to cope with stress and anxiety.
This group will begin on January 6th from 2pm to 3:30pm.

Facing the Past, Embracing the Present
Do one or more traumatic events from the past cause you problems? Have you often considered exploring psychological treatment? The CarrPsych PTSD Recovery Group may be for you.

What to Expect:

Expert Guidance: Led by a licensed mental health professional, our group sessions provide a safe space for sharing experiences and learning from one another.
Evidence-Based Techniques: Each week, we’ll introduce effective strategies and skills, drawing from Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), mindfulness, and other proven approaches, to help you better manage your symptoms.
Trauma Processing: Engage in meaningful, professionally facilitated discussions that allow you to deepen your understanding of your trauma and its impact on your life.
Supportive Community: Connect with others who understand what you're going through. Learn that you are not alone.
Personalized Insights: Tailor the skills you learn to fit your personal experiences and challenges, ensuring that you have the tools you need to thrive.

This group is suitable for first responders, veterans & military personnel, injured workers, and members of the general public with or without a trauma-related diagnosis (e.g. PTSD).
