This post makes me feel so energized! I have attempted anew completed so many things that appeared on the surface to be ”closesd doors”.
I was successful in securing jobs by applying to postings that were EXPIRED.

Asked for a position where there was no such position. Pushed through on so many things that I felt could never be and DID IT ANYWAYS!
Sure, not everything worked out but sooooo many things did! TRY ANYWAYS!

If you want it, go for it. You never truly know what might work out ❤️

Don't self-reject.

Two years into the pandemic, exhaustion, cognitive overload and perceived injustice have combined to make people very, very angry. Dr. Molly Colvin explains what’s happening in our brains.

People-pleasing.

This is some truth! How hard is it for you to feel like you don’t have to “do it all”?

This is a very helpful post! We can decide to TAKE TIME to think, reflect, and get back to others about things being asked of us. It does not mean that we are not competent to ask for more time.
How does this land for you?

Urgency culture is a product of a collective that is stuck in a hyper-vigilant state.

Many of us are in this hyper-vigilant state our entire lives.

We’ve been conditioned to believe in scarcity + lack. We have “fomo” + say yes to everything. We overextend ourselves. We are available 24/7. Many of us feel guilt if we aren’t always “on call.”

We pressure ourselves + each other to always have an answer, to immediately know how we feel, to instantly respond. It’s no surprise that we store trauma in our bodies: this is a state of chronic stress.

Boundaries are key in healing.

Boundaries help us reclaim ourselves. They are an act of self love that says: “I’ll pause. I’ll give myself grace + time. I will respond in new ways that allow me space.

By placing boundaries we become more conscious. We learn what serves us + what does not. We learn how we *actually* feel.

We create space for ourselves + others, which actually creates deeper meaningful connections.

Do you notice urgency culture in your life?

To all you amazing women out there!

You are wonderful and beautiful just as you are. What does 'normal' even mean anyways? There is truly no such thing. Normal is what we strive to be when we are working to be able to accept and love ourselves as we are.

Sending warm thoughts to everyone out there today! ❤

The best people are out there being themselves, not trying to the normal.

Sometimes being assertive and using our skills is difficult! What can certainly get in my way is being completely overloaded (and overwhelmed!) with too much going on. This significantly impacts my ability to use my communication skills and I think it is an area that does not get a lot of attention.

Have you noticed this before? What do you do when you notice this start to creep in?

Sometimes, as parents/caregivers we can have sensory overload as well. Take care of yourself when things become overwhelming.
