Heads-up! Not all blood glucose monitors on the market are safe or approved by Health Canada. Using an unapproved device could put your health at risk.

Non-invasive monitors (the ones that don’t poke your skin) are not approved in Canada so be extra careful!

This week marks National Addictions Awareness Week - a time to listen, to learn, and to support those affected by substance use and addition.

This year’s theme is “Anchoring Hope.” Addiction is not a choice. Like any other health issue, people experiencing addition deserve compassion and care. We must continue to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and make it easier to support those who need help.

The Government of Canada is working to raise awareness of the overdose crisis, with a focus on prevention, reducing stigma, and supporting people who are seeking help. Visit: https://ow.ly/H4cc50Xt0o

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) affects us all. Infections can be hard or impossible to treat if antibiotics or other antimicrobials don’t work due to increasing resistance.

You can help prevent AMR:
1. Only take antibiotics and other antimicrobials when prescribed
2. Never share or use leftover antimicrobial medications
3. Wash your hands often and stay up to date with your vaccines to prevent infections

Small actions make a big difference.
