Holiday vacations, modified hours, and reduced staffing can unintentionally create gaps in first aid coverage. Even in December, workplaces are still required to have properly trained attendants on site based on risk level and workforce size.

Taking a few minutes to review schedules and coverage now can help ensure you remain compliant and prepared if an incident occurs. Safety doesn’t take a holiday, and neither do your responsibilities.

If you’re out driving, take it slow and put safety first.

Heavy rainfall reduces visibility, hides deep water, and increases the risk of hydroplaning. A few simple precautions can make all the difference:

• Slow down - wet roads reduce tire traction.
• Avoid large puddles - you never know how deep they are.
• Increase following distance -give yourself extra time to react.
• Use your headlights - stay visible to other drivers.
• Never drive through moving floodwater - even a few inches can sweep a vehicle.
