Before starting CPR, you must check for normal breathing.

When someone is unresponsive:
✔️ Tap and shout
✔️ Call for help / have someone call 911
✔️ Check for normal breathing (look, listen, and feel)

Take no more than 10 seconds.

If they are not breathing normally, begin CPR immediately.

Seconds matter in a cardiac emergency. Knowing what to look for can make all the difference.
