Health Canada is updating labelling for the AstraZeneca and COVISHIELD vaccines with warnings about the potential side effects of rare events of blood clots, and to provide information about the signs and symptoms.
The department said it has reviewed available data from Europe and the United Kingdom and has not identified any specific risk factors for developing blood clots. It said the overall risk of these blood clots is approximately 4 people per one million, and the benefits of the vaccine in protecting against COVID-19 outweigh its potential risks.
There was one case of blood clots reported this past week in Canada.
For patients who have received the AstraZeneca or COVISHIELD vaccine, if the following symptoms develop four days or more after vaccination, they should seek medical attention:
*Shortness of breath
*Chest pain
*Leg swelling
*Persistent abdominal (belly) pain
neurological symptoms, such as severe and persistent worsening headaches or blurred visionskin bruising or tiny blood spots under the skin beyond the site of the injection.

Based on government information released today we should be able to vaccinate COVISHIELD Vaccine made by Astra Zeneca to individuals age 55 to 65 starting Wednesday. If you need to book your appointment call

Wanted to let everyone know our Christmas and New Years hours.

We will be open till December 24th until 4 pm. We will reopen Monday December 28th with our regular hours.

We will be open on December 31st until 4 pm closed on the 1st. We will open on Monday 9 to 5:30PM and back to our regular days and hours .

Retail pharmacies do not shut down, not even in Italy. Retail pharmacists are the most easily accessible and most frequently visited health professionals.
We are on the frontlines of this pandemic. Many of us are caregivers to our children and other family members, so we are committed to protecting ourselves and our patients & minimizing the spread of this virus. That being said, we need your help:
1. Please be patient with the pharmacy personell. We are trying our best to take care of each and every patient as quickly & efficiently as possible. Your health & safety our our #1 priority. This in addition to increased prescription volume may increase waiting times for prescriptions, phone calls and counseling.
2. DO NOT come into the pharmacy if you are sick or have a fever. Send a family member or friend inside to pick up prescriptions or utilize curbside pick-up or our delivery service.
3. When waiting for prescriptions to be filled, try not to linger in crowded waiting areas. Step outside for a bit . Also try to leave enough space between you & the person in front of you for both HIPAA reasons & social distancing.
4. Utilize any & all technology available like Pharmacy App & Web & Phone refills. Order your Prescription refills a few days in advance to give the pharmacy staff sufficient time to get them ready.
5. Do not call the pharmacy for non-essential matters or questions.
6. Try to use credit & debit cards to limit the amount of cash that you and the pharmacy staff have to handle.
7. Wash or sanitize your hands before and after touching anything in the pharmacy.
