An athlete who I've worked with several times before, came in feeling under powered, weak and unstable in the ankles (they had rolled them several times last basketball game), powerless legs and hips, very tight shoulders. All these symptoms came on all at the same time, and were very unusual for them. I began to wonder if they had caught a flu bug or something, but they said they felt fine. As we tried to figure out what happened before all this happened, they remembered they had dental surgery about a month ago and was still working on recovering from it. Light bulbs go off! Totally explains their global symptoms! They began to realize that as they were healing, the left side of their mouth was feeling much better and also the left side of their body was also feeling more stable. Right side was slow in healing and coincidentally, the right side of their body was weak and feeling turned off. Checked left side masseter and temple, all was loose and moved easily. Checked right side and they were stuck, not mobile. The immobility of the tissues went all the way up to the top of their head! Worked on the immobile tissues, had them walk and see how they felt now. Was like night and day difference! Shoulders completely let go, their posture went from forward and rounded to tall and shoulders back (without effort!), hips had power, feet worked like feet, ankles looked and felt stable!
The closer something is to the brain, the greater the impact it has on the entire system. Teeth, jaw, muscles in the head, cranial sutures and all things ear and vestibular system (everything that could have been affected by the dental surgery) can greatly affect performance.
The power of neurology! This never gets old 🥰🤓ðŸ§
