Cosmetic contact lenses can pose a risk of harm if improperly fit, used, cleaned or cared for. Complications can be serious, and may lead to vision loss. Be sure to purchase them from an authorized dispenser. A prescription and proper instructions will help to minimize the risks. An authorized dispenser such as your optometrist can also ensure that the lenses are sourced from an approved manufacturer.
Never share contact lenses with other people!

How much screen time is TOO MUCH screen time for your child?

Kids are on screens more than ever — school, games, social media… it adds up fast.
While tech has its perks, too much screen time can take a toll on young eyes. 👀📱

CAO has outlined the following recommendations for safe recreational use of electronic screens for children:
• 0–2 years: No screen time is recommended
• 2–5 years: No more than one hour with regular breaks
• Children over 5: Ideally, no more than two hours per day of recreational screen time with regular breaks

Remember: individual screen time plans should be based on development and needs. To learn more about your child’s vision, visit your optometrist.

On September 30th, we will be closed in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day is an important opportunity to pause, reflect, and honor the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the communities impacted. We stand in solidarity and acknowledge the importance of truth, reconciliation, and healing.

Before vision therapy Rebecca could not see objects in 3D and says objects appeared like a “half inflated balloon” and her eyes weren’t working together.

Now that she has depth perception, this is how Rebecca describes seeing in 3D:
“It’s more of a sense rather than vision. Objects take up space that they didn’t before, kind of like a balloon takes up more space when you blow it up.
Now I see the full picture “
