Honouring Remembrance Day: Holding Space for Grief, Trauma, and Legacy
As we pause on this Remembrance Day, we honour those who served and those who continue to carry the visible and invisible wounds of war.
For some, this day brings solemn gratitude. For others, it may stir grief, trauma memories, or family legacies that are complex and painful. You donât need to have served in the military to feel the ripple effects of loss, survival, or intergenerational trauma.
At Calming Minds, we believe in creating space for the full spectrum of human experience. Today, that includes honour, heartbreak, resilience, and remembrance.
Whether you're lighting a candle, attending a ceremony, or simply taking a quiet moment, know that itâs okay to feel whatever arises â or nothing at all.
âSometimes remembering is an act of healing. Sometimes it's an act of courage.â (Sue Monk Kidd)
If this day feels heavy, youâre not alone. Therapy can be a place to unpack what you carry â at your pace, in your own way.
