In honour of Remembrance Day, some of the students from St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School came to our home this morning, and created this beautiful poppy garden for our residents. Thank you so much! Everyone truly appreciated this kind and thoughtful gesture.

We have had a great Halloween Spirit Week full of laughs and great memories!
Today we held our annual Halloween Pumpkin decorating challenge. Our staff did not disappoint! The pumpkins were all so creative and amazing. Thank you to everyone who voted..

1st place pumpkin-Birch Unit- Witch’s Brew
2nd place- Kitchen- Winnie The Pooh Honey Pot
3rd place- Landmark- Cinderella’s Carriage. Thank you to all the departments for all of your hard work! 🎃

Next we had our costume contest.. all of our staff looked amazing!!!
Best individual costume- Punk Rocker Nurse Brenda
Best Group Costume- Birch’s 3 Little Pigs
Best Resident Costume- Bob, Carol, Muriel & Michele all tied! 🧟

Yesterday some of our residents enjoyed a beautiful Fall Leaf Tour. 🍁The colours were gorgeous, and they enjoyed seeing the animals too! This week is also our Halloween Spirit Week, and our staff fashioned their Spooky Hair! 👻

Today we had a spirit day to celebrate Toronto Blue Jays heading into the World Series! Our staff and residents wore their Jays attire or the colour Blue. Thank you to everyone who participated 💙

This morning we had a fun staff & resident Turkey Bandit Scavenger Hunt 🦃 Congratulations to Nurse Jackie and Resident Carol on finding the most turkeys!

Thank you to Jonathan for coming in and doing a presentation about growing vegetables and flowers from seed, and sharing interesting facts with us. Jonathan spent many years farming with his dad who is a resident here. The residents also enjoyed sampling cherry tomatoes from Jonathan’s farm, getting flowers and asking question’s. We look forward to having you back again!

Our residents finally made it to the beach! We had to reschedule twice due to the hot weather last month. Today was perfect. The sun was shining, they had Mary Browns for lunch, and had a wonderful time! ☀️

On Saturday we hosted our first Fall Fair! It was an amazing day. Thank you so much to all of the residents, staff and families who attended. Thank you to the staff and volunteers who helped make this event a success. Thank you to the brave staff who went in our dunk tank 💦
