Two spots left for Sandbag Yin this Sunday at 7pm

Settle into deep grounding and supported release in this all levels speciality class. Here we blend traditional yin postures with the steady weight of sandbags to encourage your body to soften, surrender, and open at a deeper level.

Long, quiet holds allow connective tissues to gently lengthen while the added weight promotes a sense of containment and nervous system calm. Expect a gentle practice that melts tension, improves mobility, and grounds you into this slow season.

Say hello to the introduction of Basics in Yoga Philosophy self-paced online course! ✨

Here’s the run down. I’m currently in the process of releasing this content as an e-book, as well will be offering this course in person starting in the late fall.

Here’s a curriculum breakdown for this course:

Introduction (welcome, language and culture, what is yoga, history of yoga)

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (intro, Sutra 1.2 exploration and commentary, method of study, the eight-limbed path, the kleshas, karma, samsara, contemplation prompts, and discussion on representation of yoga philosophy in pop culture)

The Subtle Body (what is the subtle body, the gunas, the koshas, prana & nadis, chakras, kundalini, prana vayus, and contemplation prompts)

Ayurveda (intro, Prakriti, doshas, Vata, Pitta, Kapha, doshas out of balance, pacifying the doshas though diet, working with Ayurveda, contemplation prompts)

Conclusion (notes for the future, journal prompts, and exhaustive resources and references)

This is is from my heart and has been written and culminated over time as I’ve gained more knowledge and had time to practically apply these concepts to my life. I now feel comfortable to begin offering continuing education for clients and teachers alike, and I thought a review of basic yoga philosophy was a fitting way to begin the journey. The presentation of this content in readable and intriguing way for those curious about yoga can help us truly understand the heart of yoga beyond asanas and pranayama.

The contemplation prompt sections are especially meaningful as they come from associations between yoga philosophy and modern science, or other interesting similarities between concepts in yoga I have noticed life over time exploring this material. I hope you enjoy this context and give it a chance!

Wanna be a super cool mom and daughter duo? Just show up.

Is being cool the goal? Nope. But look at this connection, this perspective, this presence and expansion of potential…

The mom said she hadn’t done a headstand in 10 years, I told her I couldn’t tell. The daughter said it was her first time. Again, I couldn’t tell….

This trip was inspiring in so many ways, but to see how many families, couples, and friends showed up, tried something (maybe) new, had fun, explored, and showed themselves how capable they are was nothing less than breathtaking.

An unforgettable experience that I will never be able to describe. My heart is bursting.

A Note on the Nature of This Practice

Spirituality is often misunderstood as a performance, a constant state of peace, politeness, and positivity. As if being on a spiritual path means smiling through discomfort and never raising your voice. As if it means always being soft, always being agreeable.

That’s separation.

True spiritual practice has more in common with Kali than with any polished persona. She doesn’t just comfort, but destroys illusion. She cuts through ego and burns away what isn’t real. Destroying all, to make way for the truth. If you only seek peace (Shiva), you may bypass the fire (Kali). If you only seek harmony (Vishnu), you may resist a necessary destruction. True practice flows through all three, destroy, witness, preserve, over and over again, however many times it takes…

The path is not about becoming only light. It’s about coming back to wholeness. That means making space for grief, anger, confusion, boundaries, clarity, and shadow, the full, sacred mess of being human. The universe is not just peace and light; it’s chaos, death, rebirth, silence, and thunder. So are you.

As a teacher, I will never ask you to shrink yourself to fit someone else’s idea of what “enlightened” looks like. I’m not here to perform perfection, and I won’t ask that of you either. Sometimes I’ll show up as grounded presence, and sometimes I’ll be the fire. Both are valid. Both are necessary.
This work isn’t about pretending. It’s about remembering. You are already vast. Already worthy.

Already the entire cosmos, in all its growth and collapse.

I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me….we are one 📿

Thank you to everyone who showed to the first self-myofascial release offering!

I hope to hold more of these in the future.

The time flew by, but we talked about key points like the importance of bringing this practice forward and making it your own, being intuitive, and feeling into our power of being our own true healers.

Given time, space, and support, we have the power to transmute many things…including sensations, thoughts, emotions, and energies. It all comes together and SMR is a brilliant way to build that mind body connection and lean into mindfulness and touch as healing modality.

Keep your eye on the schedule for more SMR offerings through the summer!

Same soul ♥️

The light in me recognizes the light in you….

The matter of saying namaste at the close of yoga is a matter of instructor preference. Keeping this tradition is crucial for me.

At times, we may disconnect with the meaning behind the words that we say, or be unaware of with them entirely, as often happens when attempting to translate Sanskrit.

The basic truth of what namaste means, “bowing”, may be used as a greeting but can be used at all times of day. This further translates into “the divine in me bows to the divine in you”.

In my years of teaching, I have yet to close a class without saying this. This acknowledgement of our inner connectedness to each other and the divine is nothing less than sacred to me, thus it is important for me to close with this reminder.

I find the word to be a wonderful prompt to expand thoughts related to divinity and connection. Ask yourself, what does namaste mean to me? What aspects of the history of the word do I value and relate to? What does divinity and connection mean to me? What does the word “soul” mean to me?

Have a great Easter weekend all! 🐣

Your whole life will be a series of healing. That’s how it works. You live, you uncover a layer, you are asked to go deeper, and you sink into a part of you that feels even more true than the person you were a year, a month, a week, a minute before. In many ways it’s about shedding. Shedding what holds you back from experiencing your life as it’s happening. Shedding societal conditioning. Shedding walls, blocks. Healing will not be linear. It will not arrive one day in perfect form. It’s a becoming. An unraveling. A putting together only to unspool a bit more. Stop trying to be “done” with the work of becoming yourself. Stop rushing it. You have a lifetime to master it. You’re meant to have a lifetime to become, unfold, tense and unfold again. It all belongs. It’s all part of it. Maybe you need a break once in a while, but don’t stop becoming truer versions of yourself. You don’t have to become “better”. Just truer. More you. More expressed. More free. - Jamie Varon

Taking a nursing degree might be the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to do. The hardest process I’ve had to surrender to yet, each day uncovers another layer of myself, another version of reality I do question if I’m capable of handling. It’s challenging but changing, and I’m growing into a different nurse…a different person altogether. It’s extremely uncomfortable, but it’s growth, not easy. Pushing forward again and again and again is life, it’s evolution. Yoga is my grounding, reminding me always that life is not always comfortable. The discomfort is where the work is done, where the changes happen, uncovering a path to a life, an experience, you were always meant to receive.

Anyways, this photo makes me giggle. Take care friends.

Join for Hot Power Flow next Wednesday October 2nd @ 6pm at

It’s been while since I’ve taught Power Flow (like since a few months after starting teaching yoga), but after an amazing Flow & Yin the other week I’ve been inspired to bring more yang yoga to the community! Power Flow is a wonderful way to build strength & flexibility, while exploring exciting new poses and conditioning endurance!

Everyone is welcome and accommodated! Power Flow may seem intimidating and can be quite the experience; however, there is ALWAYS the option to go at your own pace, with your own breath, and take optional poses/rest as required.

Still reeling from the absolute bliss felt this weekend. It was truly surreal, breathtaking, and beyond any words…. I am honored and thankful to be living this life.

Saying the past year has been difficult would be an understatement, but it has also been full of more life than I could have ever imagined. Thank you Grandmother Aya for meeting me here and allowing me to bask in your endless beauty. I will never forgot the love, support, and community that was felt this weekend ♥️✨
