Say hello to the introduction of Basics in Yoga Philosophy self-paced online course! ✨
Here’s the run down. I’m currently in the process of releasing this content as an e-book, as well will be offering this course in person starting in the late fall.
Here’s a curriculum breakdown for this course:
Introduction (welcome, language and culture, what is yoga, history of yoga)
Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (intro, Sutra 1.2 exploration and commentary, method of study, the eight-limbed path, the kleshas, karma, samsara, contemplation prompts, and discussion on representation of yoga philosophy in pop culture)
The Subtle Body (what is the subtle body, the gunas, the koshas, prana & nadis, chakras, kundalini, prana vayus, and contemplation prompts)
Ayurveda (intro, Prakriti, doshas, Vata, Pitta, Kapha, doshas out of balance, pacifying the doshas though diet, working with Ayurveda, contemplation prompts)
Conclusion (notes for the future, journal prompts, and exhaustive resources and references)
This is is from my heart and has been written and culminated over time as I’ve gained more knowledge and had time to practically apply these concepts to my life. I now feel comfortable to begin offering continuing education for clients and teachers alike, and I thought a review of basic yoga philosophy was a fitting way to begin the journey. The presentation of this content in readable and intriguing way for those curious about yoga can help us truly understand the heart of yoga beyond asanas and pranayama.
The contemplation prompt sections are especially meaningful as they come from associations between yoga philosophy and modern science, or other interesting similarities between concepts in yoga I have noticed life over time exploring this material. I hope you enjoy this context and give it a chance!
