Big news for us! 🎉

We have been operating our business out of our home since we first launched in 2023. It seemed completely manageable at the time, as we only had two products.

Since then, we have seen rapid growth, loads of support, and have expanded our product line to 20 SKUs in just two years!

Every time we added a new product, this required us to find more space in our home to store stock. We do have a large warehouse where we keep most of our inventory, but for day-to-day operations, it was essential that we had a large amount of product available to ship.

This resulted in our home being about 75% business! With two young children, it was simply too much!

We are so thrilled to announce that we have found a commercial space where we are going to be doing fulfillments from moving forward 🙂.

Gillian and her brother James will continue to fulfill orders from the new fulfillment centre. Local deliveries still remain the same, and we will continue to provide excellent service to our local retailers with deliveries in a timely manner.

Online orders will continue to ship daily, with our same-day shipping cutoff time remaining at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.

This is a huge step in the right direction for us, and really speaks to our growth and development as one of Canada's leading supplement companies.

We are thrilled to be launching two new SKUs into our product line this week, and we are also excited to be continuing to expand into more stores.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us from our small beginnings - we are so excited for what the future holds!

We don't always post about our own athletic pursuits and achievements, but a huge part of why we started our business was because we are recreational athletes ourselves.

It has been a successful year for our own Joe Clark, who plays squash as his sport of choice. Joe kicked off 2025 with a win in the B-division (the top division of the tournament) at the Richmond Hill Squash Club's Doug Allen Tournament, only 5 weeks after our second child Alice was born earlier this year.

Joe plays squash 4-5 days per week, in addition to cross-training for cardiovascular fitness through running, and weight training for strength and power, and finally sport specific agility and ghosting drills. It takes a serious level of dedication to be good at this sport, as it is highly technical and physically demanding.

He recently played in the HRC Open in Orangeville last month, and secured his second win of 2025 in the B-division singles.

Joe is gearing up for his last tournament of 2025, where he will play at the Black Knight White Oaks Cup in Niagara-on-the-lake at the end of November.

Let's go, Joe !!

How it started:
Two recreational athletes with an entrepreneurial mindset and a personal need for high quality fitness supplements.

We started our business when we became frustrated with the Canadian fitness supplement market - it seemed like most products we tried had their issues in some way!

Problems we identified:
😰Not enough protein/ poor macro split
😰Lacking amino acid profile
😰Too many fillers
😰Artificial ingredients
😰Bad taste
😰Shrinkflation/low value and high cost
😰Poor formulation
😰Companies using fancy words to market low quality products
😰Faceless corporations

The list goes on!!

We solved the problems in the market, creating a business and a brand with these solutions for people just like us:

Solutions we implemented:
💪🏼High protein content and optimal macro split
💪🏼Excellent amino acid profile
💪🏼No fillers
💪🏼No artificial ingredients
💪🏼Great taste
💪🏼More product for less money
💪🏼Scientific formulation
💪🏼Transparency and backing up claims with science
💪🏼Family-owned company with us handling everything to do with the operation of our business

It's hard to believe we only started with two SKUs : plant based vanilla and plant based chocolate proteins.

We have 18 SKUs now, launching our 19th in about 1.5 weeks (HELLO EnduraFuel!!) and have three more in development.

We are so thankful to have connected with people who saw the same issues we did with other brands on the market, and who gave us a chance. Your loyalty and support means the world to us!

The Thrive athlete team is growing again! We want to extend a warm welcome to Soleil!

Soleil is a ball hockey player - for those who don’t know, ball hockey is played either outside in the hot sun, or in boiling hot arenas (no air conditioning).

"My nutrition has become a huge factor in my life. I have to prepare myself for these conditions months before the actual event. Some ways to prepare other than working out and playing, include sitting in a sauna, taking hot and ice baths, drinking a ton of water with electrolytes, and making protein shakes with creatine.”

Here is how Soleil came to play ball hockey: 🏑

"I grew up in London, Ontario and started skating at the age of three when my parents put me in figure skating. Very quickly I realized I didn’t like it, so when my parents put my siblings in hockey they switched me over as well. When I was about 8 years old I decided I wanted to be a goalie. Being a goalie took me to a lot of different places. My grade 11 year I ended up playing hockey two hours north for a U-18 AA team.

The year after I moved down to San Jose, California to play U19 AAA with the San Jose Jr. Sharks. It took me to a bunch of new places like Alaska, Vancouver, Wisconsin, etc. This helped me get the opportunity to play college hockey in the states for 5 years. My final year of college hockey I got nominated for NCAA Woman of the year from both my school and conference, awarded for goalie of the year for the conference, and female athlete of the year for my school.

While I may be done playing ice hockey competitively, I found a new love in Ball Hockey. I’ve played in many leagues in my hometown and had the opportunity to play on both Team Great Britain and most recently with Team North America. Aside from that, I have played in World Championships in places like Czechia, Dominican Republic, USA, etc."

We are thrilled to continue diversifying our team of athletes with people from all different sports disciplines! Welcome, Soleil!

The Thrive team had a blast at the New Tecumseth Memorial Run on Oct 19!

This 5km run/walk in Alliston is in support of Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation. Organized by Lisa Miceli, it's a family fun day complete with a kids fun run, vendor village, the main 5km run/walk and lots of music to put some pep in your step.

We shared all our products with runners, with Hydrate electrolytes being the main feature. 💧💧

This is a small, regional race that we've been coming to since we launched, and we always have such a great time connecting with the local people who are making a difference in their community by supporting the event. (Plus we like racing it too - it's a great route for a quick time, mostly flat!!) 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️

We have one event left this season, the Chill Session organized by North of 89 Trail Running on Nov 29 at Mansfield Outdoor Centre.

We are hoping that we finally have the EnduraFuel to share with runners at that event - fingers crossed!!!

Ryan Shea is the owner of South Simcoe Physiotherapy, and is one of our Thrive athletes and brand partners. A runner and a coach, he's a force to be reckoned with in New Tecumseth and well known in the community. We recently saw Ryan at the New Tecumseth Memorial Run where he was the main sponsor of the event in support of Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

For the last year, we've partnered with Ryan, stocking select products on the shelves at his clinic in Alliston!

We carry plant protein, greens, creatine and hydrate there - all your fueling needs, without the cost of shipping- just pick it up at the clinic! 💧

Ryan offers several services that will help you be your best self - coming from a Master's degree in Physiotherapy and more than 20 years of clinical experience.

Services offered at South Simcoe Physiotherapy include:
Manual and Manipulative Therapy
Running Related Injuries and Run Coaching
Acupuncture and Dry Needling
Vertigo/Dizziness/Vestibular Rehabilitation
Concussion Rehabilitation
Custom Bracing
Shockwave Therapy
and more !

Winners of the race in Alliston walked away with a FREE running assessment voucher (our own Gillian House was one of the lucky recipients!)

The turnout at the race was speckled with countless runners in Alliston, many of whom are coached by or a part of Ryan's run club.

Don't miss this epic spot for physio and retail in Alliston!

On October 14th 2025, Consumer Reports published a highly misleading and factually inaccurate article, spreading fear and misinformation among plant based protein users. We immediately responded to our customer base, putting them at ease and reassuring them that our products are 100% safe for consumption and got to work with a detailed scientific review of this article.

Please take the time to read our blog post, linked in our bio titled “Heavy Metals in Plant-Based Protein: Why You Shouldn’t Listen to Consumer Reports (and What Science Says Instead).”

Here's a few important takeaways from our response (all citations for these statements are linked in the blog)

🔴Large, longitudinal, peer-reviewed studies consistently show that the average person consumes on average 140 times more lead per day than the Prop 65 'safe daily lead limit' - the backbone of the Consumer Reports article, simply through normal foods including water and vegetables
🔴A single beetroot can contain up to 28 times the Prop 65 lead limit—and about four times that of a serving of plant-based protein. Lead is also common in many other fruits and vegetables, often in quantities well above the Prop 65 threshold.
🔴100 g of frozen tomatoes can contain up to 10 times more lead than a serving of plant-based protein, 58 times Prop 65's limit.
🔴There can be up to 10 times more lead in a litre of drinking water in Canada than the Prop 65 limit, and up to 20 times more in the UK according to the lead limits on safe drinking water.
🔴Lead consumption in Canadians is not a new or emerging issue, in fact, it's the opposite with lead consumption dropping 37% since 2009, meanwhile plant-based protein consumption has increased 2.4% each year.
🔴For adverse health effects to occur from lead, the average Canadian would need to consume 12 times more lead per day to raise blood lead levels to CDC levels of concern.
🔴Consumer Reports has cherry-picked the world’s lowest and scientifically unsupported lead threshold — California’s Proposition 65 — and built an entire article around it, spreading misinformation and fear to consumers.

Fall 🍁 event season has been in full swing!

We kicked off with the Island Lake Classic Sept 1, and since then, there's been no slowing down!

Last week we visited Gordon's Market for a sip and sample table during their fall 🍂 fair.

Immediately following Gordon's, we zipped over to Wasaga Beach Foodland and showcased our products to busy Saturday shoppers!

The next morning, we were at the start/finish line of the VO2 5k and 10k right here in Collingwood, and the heat was incredible - perfect weather for an icy cold hydrate after the race! 💧

🍁Upcoming Events🍁

Saturday, October 18th: we will be at the Creemore Vertical Challenge from 11am-2pm, hydrating racers as they pass by, and offering samples of all our other products for spectators and participants.

Sunday, October 19th: we'll see you at the New Tecumseth Memorial 5k in Alliston, where we are sharing Hydrate with the runners for the first time, and sampling our other products out too!

Saturday, November 29th: we'll be freezing our tails off serving our products at Chill Session 2025 at Mansfield Outdoor Center in Mulmer, a family event with a lunch afterwards!

We look forward to meeting so many of our regional fitness enthusiasts at these events, so please come and say hi!

Big thanks to , , , Wasaga Foodland, , and for the opportunity to share our products and support your events this season!

To book us for next year, please email gillian@thriveprotein.ca to discuss possibilities!

We have a new sponsored athlete on the team! We would like to extend a warm welcome to Taya Currie! Supporting athletes is a passion of ours, so it was a no-brainer bringing Taya on board!

Here's a little bit about her athletic journey:

"I grew up on a horse farm in Parkhill, ON and started playing hockey at the age of 4 in my local community. I quickly switched over to play for the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs (also known as the Canucks), AAA boys team where I was drafted into the OHL in my final season to the Sarnia Sting. After that, I switched over to girls hockey where I played for the Bluewater Hawks junior U22 team for 2 seasons. I moved on to play D1 for Providence College in Rhode Island for 2 years, after which I decided to move back to Canada. This is my first year playing usports for the MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton, Alberta.

Off the ice, I enjoy water skiing, barrel racing, and playing soccer. I believe in getting enough protein and proper nutrition as an athlete. It's so important, both on and off the ice, to fuel not just my body but my brain being a student athlete."

Keep up the great work, Taya!

Shoutout to one of our biggest local supporters, Rob Turnbull for completing the Ironman World Championships!

Thirty-six years ago in 1989 at 23 he went on an adventure and completed his first Ironman at Ironman Canada (Penticton). Rob has struggled with a few nagging injuries, but he didn't let that stop him this year in Ottawa, earning one of 85 slots for the World Champs in Nice - with just a 5 week turnaround to recover for this 16th race.

Here's a summary from the course in Nice:

🏊🏼‍♀️Swim - it was announced at 5:00am there would be no wetsuits allowed. I was fine with it, as the water was 25C and ultra buoyant. My 55-59 was the last wave so the swells were a little bigger but it went well overall and I liked the course.
🌀T1: I was in the last rack in transition. According to Garmin I covered 520m to get to my bike! My bike exit was super close though.
🚵🏼Bike: without a doubt it was the hardest bike I’ve ever completed. Flat for the first 10k, first climb for 10k (steepest sections were here), another 10k of technical descent, then the CLIMB. The climb was so long at grades between 4-8% with no break, about 25k. Once over the top it was incredibly windy. We went directly into a headwind with more climbing! From 140-170km it was pretty much full technical descending. I was unable to eat or drink during this section and my hands were cramping due to braking. There were several crashes on the descent with ambulances coming by periodically.
🌀T2- this one was a little shorter at 400m. I got changed, reset my brain and got out as fast as possible.
🏃🏼Run: I surprisingly felt okay to start the run despite all that time on the bike. The 4 lap run was awesome - tons of spectators, mostly flat and made it easy to break down into smaller parts. My lack of long runs were having an effect but overall I was happy with how I ran. From the airport you could see the lights of the finish area so it was motivating to keep moving on the final lap. And finally the finish!

Way to go, Rob! We are super impressed by your grit and determination, and best of luck to his partner Sara, who is attending Worlds for the half Ironman in Spain in Nov!
