WheelWOD is a lifestyle that is approached through fitness seminars and website interaction to allow athletes who are wheelchair users as well as coaches who are working with adaptive athletes to gather information and apply in their own training environments. Founded Chris Stoutenburg (T-6 Paraplegic & co-owner of Crossfit Indestr) developed this adaptation to training over a 4 year process. This was achieved by addressing functional movement of the adaptive athlete and through a system of trial and error and test and re-test exercises. From this data they have created a base line of fitness movements with standards and performance measures to train any level of disability in athletes that use wheelchairs or mobile aids. The mission of WheelWOD is: To make all forms of fitness adaptable and accessible for everyone.
