It’s International Volunteer Managers Day! This year’s celebration carries the theme “Be Bold. Make Change.”, recognizing the extraordinary impact volunteer managers make by connecting people to causes that change lives.

At CGMH, we’re proud to celebrate Sadie, our Manager of Volunteer Services, whose energy and leadership empower an incredible team of volunteers who give their time, compassion, and skills to support our patients, families, and staff.

Thank you, Sadie, for all that you do — and to our volunteers, for the countless ways you brighten CGMH.

It’s Medical Radiation Technologist Week, and we’re celebrating the incredible team behind the images that help guide so much of the care we provide at CGMH.

Over the past year, our MRTs have been at the centre of enormous change — from opening our brand-new MRI service to replacing and upgrading both our X-ray machine and CT scanner. Through every renovation, installation, and adjustment, they’ve continued to deliver outstanding, compassionate care to our patients.

Thank you to our Medical Radiation Technologists for your expertise, adaptability, and commitment to providing safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging for our community every day.

This past week, CGMH proudly participated in Canadian Patient Safety Week (CPSW), embracing the theme "All Voices for Safer Care." This initiative serves as a powerful reminder that patient safety is a collective responsibility, built on collaboration, active listening, and decisive action.

At CGMH, we showcased our commitment to patient-centered care through an engaging poster display in the cafeteria and a roadshow across our units. Our Quality team took the time to connect with staff during rounds, fostering discussions that enhance our safety practices.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week a success! Your efforts are crucial in our ongoing commitment to improving patient safety. Together, we can make a difference!

One in nine women in Ontario will face breast cancer in their lifetime.

Regular mammograms through the Ontario Breast Screening Program can detect cancer early — when it’s most treatable and less invasive. That’s why staying up to date on screening is so important.

In Simcoe Muskoka, 66% of eligible people are current with their breast cancer screening. Let’s raise that number together.

Call the Simcoe Muskoka Cancer Screening Hotline at 1-866-608-6910 to see if you are caught up on cancer screening.
