A huge thank you to the staff, friends, and family of Darren Neil and Sons Excavating for hosting their Spring Fling Staff Appreciation Party in support of Hospice Georgian Triangle and the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital.

Through their generosity and community spirit, they raised an incredible $2,765 to help provide compassionate hospice palliative care at Campbell House..

It’s because of caring local businesses and families like Darren Neil and Sons, that we can continue to offer comfort, dignity, and support to those who need it most.

Thank you for celebrating your team while giving back in such a meaningful way.

Competition, community and cookies

We had an amazing time welcoming some special guests to Campbell House to help decorate cookies for the Smile Cookie Campaign.

A huge thank you to Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, Mike Jackson Collingwood Blues, the team from Crozier Consulting Engineers, Century 21 and Mike Jackson GM, for volunteering their time and bringing their competitive spirit to Campbell House.

We put them to the test with a race against the clock to see who could decorate the most cookies… and of course, we had to crown a winner for best decorated cookie too! Melanie Case from 95.1 The Peak FM, Julie Card from MYCOLLINGWOOD.CA, and Chloe Fraser from Easter Seals Canada were the judges. Stay tuned for the winner.

Now it’s your turn to join the fun.
The Smile Cookie Campaign is on now at your local Tim Hortons. In Collingwood, proceeds support Hospice Georgian Triangle and Easter Seals Canada.

Grab a cookie, share a smile, and support local care in our community.

A fresh look for the heart of the home.

Our amazing Kitchen Angels are proudly showing off their new purple aprons featuring Hospice Georgian Triangle’s new logo.

At Campbell House, the kitchen is so much more than a place to prepare meals. It’s where comfort is created, conversations are shared, and love is served daily.

From homemade soups and fresh baking to warm cups of tea and caring hearts, our Kitchen Angels help make Campbell House feel like home for patients and families.

Thank you, Wendy, Linda and Jeanette, for bringing comfort, care and heart to every meal.

Thank you to the Town of the Blue Mountains for honouring one of our volunteers for her incredible contributions to our community, at their Annual Volunteer Fair and Recognition Awards, held at the Beaver Valley Community Centre. This was a great event, where we were able to recruit volunteers, as well as chat with other community organizations about how we can collaborate to strengthen our community.

One of community volunteers, Maureen McDonnell was honoured with the Blue Mountains Community Builder Award for her extraordinary contributions to our community through her volunteer work with Hospice Georgian Triangle.

Since joining our Community Support Team in December 2023, Maureen has made a meaningful impact in so many ways:

• Visiting companion for individuals living with progressive, life-limiting illness
• Support for caregivers navigating difficult journeys
• Facilitator of our Caregiver Support Group at Campbell House
• Bereavement support volunteer for those experiencing loss

Maureen’s presence is a gift to everyone she meets. She brings peace, compassion, and light into every room.

Congratulations, Maureen, and thank you to the Town of The Blue Mountains for recognizing the volunteers who help strengthen our community.

Volunteer Appreciation Week 2026

For nearly two decades, Barb Gotuaco has shared her time, talents and heart with Hospice Georgian Triangle.

Barb began volunteering as a member of the Board of Directors in 2008, serving as Secretary for nine years during the development and building of Campbell House. Her dedication helped shape the home and care our community knows today.

Over the years, Barb has taken on many roles. She began as a Patient and Family Service Volunteer and now welcomes families as a reception volunteer on Tuesday afternoons.

She has also brought joy and comfort in many other ways, decorating Smile Cookies each year, singing in the volunteer choir at events like Lights of Love, and helping fulfill meaningful Living Wishes.

For Barb, volunteering is about creating a safe and supportive environment for families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

She says the appreciation shown by families means so much, and she treasures the connection, friendship and learning that come from being part of the hospice team.

Thank you, Barb, for the many ways you have supported Hospice Georgian Triangle over the years.

Living with a life-limiting illness can bring uncertainty, fear, and feelings of isolation. You don’t have to face it alone.

Our Life-Limiting Illness Support Group offers a safe, welcoming space to connect with others who understand. Led by volunteer facilitator Joe Bartolacci, this group provides comfort, conversation, and support for those navigating their own journey.

Whether you’d like to share your experience, listen to others, or know you’re not alone, you are welcome here.

Every other Monday
2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Volunteer Appreciation Week 2026

For more than 26 years, Carol Bowden has been part of the heart of Hospice Georgian Triangle.

She began volunteering when hospice care was just two rooms in the hospital, later at Sunset Manor, and continues today at Campbell House.

Over the years, Carol has done it all. Making lunches. Greeting families at reception. Helping with dishes. And now, caring for the plants that bring warmth and life into our home.

Carol calls Campbell House “a building full of love.” And that is exactly what she helps create every day.

She takes special care to welcome families who are new to hospice, helping them feel comfortable, supported and at home from the moment they arrive.

It is the little things. A warm smile. A steady presence. A space that feels cared for.

Thank you, Carol, for the compassion, dedication and love you have shared with our community for more than two decades.

Hospice Georgian Triangle

Hospice Georgian Triangle, a registered charity, provides trained volunteer and professional care and support to individuals living with life-threatening illness or in their last stages of living, to their families and to the bereaved.

HGT began in 1987 as an all-volunteer, community-based visiting program providing non-medical support to those living with a life-threatening illness, or at the end-of-life, and to their families. In 2000, two respite suites were established in the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital to address the need to provide increased respite for the caregiver. Subsequently, the respite suites were moved to Sunset Manor. Campbell House, a stand-alone facility with six residential suites, opened in August 2014.

Now that Hospice Georgian Triangle has a total of 10 beds at Campbell House, the HGT Foundation must raise more money than ever before to make sure free access to all HGT services is available to everyone who needs them at anytime.

The North Simcoe-Muskoka Local Health Integration Network funds approximately 50% of our costs, and while Hospice Georgian Triangle does not charge a fee for services, its programs are made possible only through the generous donations of people like you.
