Cat Advocates Teaching & Saving Society (CATS) is is hosting their annual online fundraising auction again this year! The money raised helps cover the rescue and vet costs.

[Long nails]
I had a client come in last fall who hadn't had her nails cut in 3 years due to health issues and her Podiatrist retiring in early 2020.
You can see that her nails were growing in any direction they could, one is even taking on a corkscrew shape and pushing into the top of one of her toes.
The skin of her toes is very thick and dry from not being exfoliated regularly so the skin underneath is very raw. I gently exfoliated what I could but didn't want to open her feet up to infection.
Her left big nail is discoloured after I debrided the thickness down due to the nail being rotten underneath. I will keep removing the discoloured nail with the next 2 subsequent pedicures, as for right now it's holding the shape of the nail bed within the toe. After that, we will start treating any remaining fungus.
It was an awesome challenge for me and I'm glad she chose me to help her.
The whole process took just over 1 hour.

[corn removal]
If you've ever felt like you had a tiny sharp rock in your shoe but could never actually find it, chances are that you have a corn.

Corns are usually formed 2 ways:
1) A callus forms on your foot (extra thickened skin caused by constant rubbing against your foot). And since your foot is dynamic and always moving, so is the callus. The centre nucleus of the callus usually will be where the corn is.
2) A sweat gland gets plugged with dirt, dead skin, oil etc and gets compacted, thus forming a corn on the skin's surface.

A corn is a tiny bit of hardened skin shaped like a diamond 💎 so the sharp end is poking into your foot. They can go very deep into your foot, constantly compacting the skin the longer it's there.

They can be removed with very little pain. The pic above looks like I was mining for gold but my client said he didn't feel a thing!
