The bingo card no one wants to black out. It is wild how anxiety can make the most mundane tasks feel impossible. Which square effects you the most?

There’s a particular kind of grief that can come with a late diagnosis.

Realizing that the things you were blamed for…
the traits you tried to hide…
the parts of yourself you worked so hard to “fix”…

were never character flaws to begin with.

Sometimes clarity doesn't come until years after the struggle began. With clarity can come relief, anger, sadness, and validation all at once.

If you’re untangling what your past might have looked like with the right support, that process deserves patience and compassion.

You were never broken.
You were navigating without the right map.

Support is available when you’re ready.

I was a sensitive kid with big feelings.

I was the “easy” child.
The one who held it together.
The one who noticed everything and was constantly scanning for how to keep the peace.

I know what it’s like to overthink.
To hide how you’re really feeling so you seem “okay.”
To make yourself smaller so everyone else feels comfortable.

But here’s what I know now:

You can feel scared and still do the thing with butterflies in your stomach.
You don’t have to hide your emotions to make other people happy.
You are allowed to take up space.
You are allowed to feel deeply.

Children and their emotions are never too much.
Teens deserve to be taken seriously and held with care.
Young adults deserve space to untangle what feels heavy.

Therapy with me isn’t about becoming less sensitive.
It’s about learning that your sensitivity is strength.

And you shouldn’t have to carry it alone anymore.

If you’re thinking about starting therapy, you’re welcome to reach out for a free consult. I’m accepting new clients.

When it comes to our overall health, learning how to cope with intense emotions can play a powerful role, supporting not just our mental health, but our overall well-being.

Emotions like anxiety, anger, and sadness are a natural part of being human. But when they feel overwhelming, it can be hard to know what to do next.

This week’s session is focused on coping with intense emotions. Together, we’ll explore:

✔️ Why intense emotions happen and how they impact our mental health.

✔️ Common coping strategies that can sometimes make things worse (like lashing out, isolating, or acting impulsively).

✔️ Practical, healthy tools to manage distress and feel more confident handling difficult emotions.

sessions are open, welcoming, judgement-free spaces to learn more about mental health and access helpful resources. We hope you’ll leave feeling supported, empowered, and equipped with new strategies to care for your mental health and overall wellness.

Support doesn’t have to wait until things feel overwhelming.

Research consistently shows that early support strengthens emotional regulation, builds resilience, and improves long-term mental health outcomes.

When children and teens learn how to understand their feelings, develop coping skills, access evidence based supports and feel genuinely heard, it changes how they move through challenges ~ not just in the moment, but over time.

That understanding, along with my experience, has shaped how I show up for young people in the counselling room and the kind of counsellor I strive to be 🩵

It’s one of the reasons I continue to choose children and youth in my counselling work ~ creating spaces where emotions are taken seriously, struggles aren’t minimized, and early intervention is accessible during the years that shape them most.

Young people deserve steady, consistent care before they reach a breaking point.

Your brain has 8 executive functions that help you plan, focus, regulate emotions, and make decisions. 💭
When these functions are disrupted, it can feel overwhelming, chaotic, or exhausting. Mental fatigue often shows up as difficulty organizing, remembering, or managing emotions.

This post explains how executive functions impact daily life and why fatigue is a common symptom of mental illness.
