Our Story

BEST Service Pros celebrated its 60th anniversary. Through the first 50 years, BEST was led by our founder Ulf von Dehn, under an owner-operator business model. Our success as a company was mainly the result of his entrepreneurial spirit, and competitive drive to create a successful company that embraced family values. In 2006, the company then transitioned to being a professionally-managed, privately-owned company in order to encourage growth and to drive success for the company. The children of Ulf von Dehn were motivated to ensure that the legacy their father created would “beat the odds” during this transitional process. This transition to operating as a professionally managed company was complemented by the second generation of the von Dehn family functioning as members of the Board of Directors. With the von Dehn family as advisors, this board provides leadership and accountability to executive team members and strategic direction.

The von Dehn family reached the conclusion that it was time to evolve the company from an owner-operator model to a professionally-managed company, in order to better leverage the success and reputation that BEST had built over the past 50 years. The transition to a professionally managed, privately owned company provided an excellent opportunity for BEST Service Pros to not only recruit a diverse and talented team, but also allowed us to formalize our mission, vision, and values, solidifying the company brand. With a clear vision and brand in mind, the company has been propelled forward at increased rates of growth, and has experienced excellent success. Moving forward, BEST hopes to continue this momentum by continuing to hire the most qualified team members, fostering a culture of improvement, and focusing on customer service excellence.
