Calluses are the body’s natural response to friction and pressure, often forming on weight-bearing areas of the feet.

While they serve as protection, excessive buildup can lead to:
• Pain or pressure when walking
• Cracking or fissures that may increase infection risk
• Changes in balance or gait from discomfort

Routine professional foot care helps maintain skin health and comfort. By safely reducing callus buildup, the skin can better absorb moisturizer and stay soft and protected - reducing the chance of complications over time.

🦶 Initial Appointment: $85
🦶 Regular Follow-Up: $70
🦶 Extended Follow-Up: $80

Follow-up care is typically recommended every 6-8 weeks, depending on individual needs, to maintain results and prevent discomfort from recurring hard skin.

All services are performed using single-use tools and according to infection prevention and control standards.

⚠️ Please Note: This level of care should not be performed independently. Attempting to remove calluses without proper technique and sterile tools can lead to cuts, bleeding, or infection. It’s safest to have this treatment performed by a professional qualified in medical foot care.

Hi everyone, I wanted to officially introduce myself! I’m Erin Massia, RPN and Foot Care Nurse (Podortho® Foot Specialist), proudly providing mobile and home-based medical foot care in Cornwall and surrounding areas.

A little about me - I’ve been a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario for several years, with a background in community and clinical nursing. In 2023, I completed advanced training in foot care and became passionate about helping people maintain healthy, pain-free feet – especially those with diabetes, circulation issues, or difficulty caring for their own feet safely.

Recently, I’ve seen a few clients who experienced injuries or complications following foot care provided elsewhere. While I can’t speak to the training or certification of other providers, these situations highlight how important it is that foot care be performed safely and according to professional standards.

In Ontario, foot care is not automatically within a nurse’s scope of practice. Nurses must complete post-graduate education and training in foot care through a recognized program to ensure they have the knowledge, skill, and judgment to provide safe, evidence-based care. This specialized training allows nurses to provide advanced foot care, which may include care for clients at risk of complications such as diabetes, circulation problems, ingrown nails, thickened nails, corns or calluses. Nurses without this certification can provide basic foot care, such as nail trimming, filing, and skin care for low-risk clients only. Practicing beyond one’s scope can put clients at risk of injury or infection and may result in disciplinary action by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

💡 Tip: It’s absolutely okay to ask your provider what education or certification they’ve completed, a qualified Foot Care Nurse or Podortho® Foot Specialist will always be happy to share this with you!
