Yoga therapy is a personalized practice that leverages the principles of yoga to support individuals in enhancing their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It emphasizes tuning into the body’s subtle signals—such as ‘yellow lights,’ ‘whispers,’ to prevent the body ‘screaming’—to identify areas needing attention. By focusing on granular movement and simple movements, yoga therapy enhances proprioception (awareness of body position and movement) and interoception (awareness of internal sensations). The practice also incorporates elements of the polyvagal theory, helping individuals regulate their nervous system responses and cultivate a sense of safety and calm. Additionally, it involves learning to improve neuromuscular patterning in the major joints, which helps preserve the health and function of the peripheral joints. This mindful exploration fosters a deeper understanding of how the body moves and feels, promoting a harmonious connection between body and mind. This approach supports relaxation, balance, and overall well-being, facilitating natural healing and personal growth. Emily teaches flow, yin, and restorative yoga, offering classes where students move their bodies, connect with their breath, and explore movement in ways that feel supportive and nourishing. She incorporates breathwork, meditation, and qigong to create a calm, somatic practice that emphasizes presence over perfect posture. Emily has been a registered nurse for over fourteen years and is currently training as a health and wellness coach and nurse consultant, bringing together her healthcare experience with the healing and grounding qualities of yoga.

Join Emily on Fridays at 12:15-1:15pm for All Level Flow available for every body.

Pathway to Perception - Cultivation Awareness
Meditation Workshop Led by Kristie Nichol
March 15th – 10am – 12:30

Through the cultivation of awareness, we light the pathway toward our deep knowing. This is a place to feel, believe and see your way forward. Meditation is like turning the looking glass within - we slow ourselves into subtly - where the body speaks in whispers and guides us into a felt sense reality – beyond language and narratives - It brings you to the unshakable truth of
you.

This is a place to start.
To start getting curious
To start getting inspired
To start finding alignment

Here, we will tame the endless questioning of the mind – you may have found yourself saying “I can’t meditate” – “I can’t sit still” – “it’s too hard” – What if I told you that you already know the feeling of meditation. You already have done it. It is in those micro moments of expanded awareness– The awe of a sunrise over a snowcapped mountain. The hushed sense of serenity of calm waters. The rhythmic release of pedalling your bike. All these are meditative moments. And it is in this state that we can see clearly the truth of ourselves.

We see what is possible.

This is a space for realization and nervous system regulation. We will gather together to explore meditation philosophies and neurological processes, with practices to bring the philosophical into the felt sense.

Bring a journal, pen, and a sense of curiosity!

Yoga Therapy *Free Community Class*
with Mackenzie Scharf
WEDNESDAYS at 5:30 - 6:30PM

This class is unique in that Mackenzie skillfully leads this class through monthly class themes, encouraging regular group attendance and building stronger support systems. Mackenzie will offer each class experience time for gentle - supportive asana, meditation, and pranayama, while leaving space for curiosity. In this class, you’ll explore the holistic practice of yoga, and invite awareness to the subtle layers of your experience. Weaving yoga philosophy and therapeutic practices Mackenzie invites to arrive on your mats as students first, and journey inward as your witness the layers of Self. Compassion, openness and ease are the foundation of this class, and it is my intention to hold a space where you can explore what your personal practice looks like, with the intention of flowing back to the Self, and the sensation of wholeness.
