There are a lot of resources to support your healing from grief and loss.

After a su***de loss, many survivors feel isolated. Finding sameness and belonging are key ingredients needed to help their journey through bereavement. Feeling supported and with the possibility to create new connections is essential.

It’s okay to not be okay, especially during the holidays. Find a healthy support and walk gently through the next several weeks.

Kids get labeled "bad" because adults don't know how to help them. Children are not wired to be bad, they are submersed in environments that are not equipped to meet their needs.

The ensuing behavior that results is not a product of who they are, but of their desperation to cope.

Once you see a kid beyond their behavior and consider their social and physical contexts, you can begin to help them get their needs met, and as they do, watch them grow and thrive in ways that they could not have done while being shamed for their
behavior.

Put your hand up in the comments if you were labeled a bad kid, or you know someone who was. What was it that you/they needed people to see and understand about the contexts you/they were navigating?

Today we wear orange.
Today we reflect and walk gently.
Today we honour those who never came home.
Today we honour survivors.
Today we honour the previous and next generations.
Today and days to come, let’s hold each other up and wrap our communities in light and love.
