https://www.walmsley.ca/blog/national-grief-and-bereavement-day.html Today is National Grief and Bereavement Day. Each loss has a gift to offer if we take time to notice it. Take a moment today to make yourself a cup of tea, make a 5 minute drawing or perhaps visit with a friend, and honour one of the losses in your life this past year or year ahead.

Loss often means by death, but it can also be loss of something you used to be able to do and now no longer can in the same way. Grief can be felt for something past/passed or in anticipation of something that is coming. Being aware of the losses ahead can remind us what we wish to prioritize in our life now.

If you normally prefer to avoid contemplating losses in your life, maybe today can be one day that you recognize them in reverence.

National Grief and Bereavement Day, observed this year on November 19th, serves as a poignant reminder of the profound impact that loss can have on individuals, families, and communities. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about the emotions associated with grief and the importance of seekin...

“Serve and return.” A sweet 7 minute video on how engaging with our children (by putting down our devices😉), creates healthy brain development and healing.

The child “serves” by reaching out for interaction—with eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, babbling, or touch. A responsive caregiver will “return the serve” by speaking back, playing peekaboo, or sharing a toy or a laugh.

I would venture to guess that it doesn’t only work on kids up until 5. Try it on your friends and family!🤗

"What if I was to tell you that a game of peek-a-boo could change the world?" asks seven-year-old Molly Wright, one of the youngest-ever TED speakers. Breaking down the research-backed ways parents and caregivers can support children's healthy brain development, Wright highlights the benefits of pla...
