HOW DOES IPL ACTUALLY WORK? | IPL device delivers controlled pulses of light into the skin to target excess melanin, the pigment responsible for sunspots and discoloration. The light breaks the pigment apart, and over the following 30 days or so your body naturally metabolizes and clears blemishes away. We can't stress this enough, IPL is a hard-working treatment. While the session itself takes about 30 minutes, proper pre-treatment prep and aftercare are essential for not only your results, but for your safety. While the full guidelines are available on our website (and will be reviewed ahead of your treatment), choosing to book your IPL sessions over the winter greatly reduces the risk of damaging the skin post treatment as direct sun exposure before and after treatment is more easily avoided.
