Closed today, September 30, for Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

A reminder that we will be closed tomorrow, September 30 for Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (also known as Orange Shirt Day).

At The Grove, we honour the survivors and lost children of the residential school system, including their communities and families.

Sept 30 is a time for reconciliation and reflection, and we encourage you to take some time out of your day to learn more by visiting the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation at https://nctr.ca or check the link in our bio.

//YINTANG ⠀

Why is there an acupuncture needle in her forehead? This might look frightening to some, but this acupuncture point is actually used to help calm anxiety. Located in what many traditions refer to as the "third eye", acupuncturists call this acupoint Yintang. Insomnia, sinus congestion, and headaches are three common indications for this surprisingly pleasant and painless acupuncture point.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I've had several patients who are retired federal workers who use this health plan which does not cover acupuncture when performed by an acupuncturist. It's akin to covering chiropractic but not by a chiropractor; or covering drug prescriptions but not when prescribed by your doctor. Seems silly yes? Please consider signing this petition.

Public Service Health Care Plan should cover Acupuncture by an Acupuncturist not just MDs!. 55 signatures are still needed!
