-diagnosis is mostly made based off mechanism and symptoms
-imaging and blood tests cannot be used to diagnose
-a thorough, multimodal assessment is best to ensure appropriate management

Concussions can be a concerning topic, especially for those involved in youth sports or high risk activities. The best tool in management of concussion is proper education, so I would like to share some quick info with you. Swipe on 👉 for more!

In summary, concussion:
-is a mild traumatic brain injury, but should be managed with care
-can occur from a hit to the head or the body
-is a functional (not structural) injury of energy deficit in the brain
-should not be graded as mild-severe to ensure all are managed appropriately and safely

Did you know that anyone involved in a motor vehicle accident is automatically approved for chiropractic care?

In both Courtenay and Campbell River, I work with ICBC to offer direct billing and direct access to their early access health care services to any patients who have been involved in an accident. All patients are automatically approved for 25 chiropractic appointments over the first 12 weeks following an accident and all appointments are COMPLETELY covered by ICBC with no additional fees to the patient. If care is needed beyond these 12 weeks, we will ensure that treatment plans and extension requests are submitted to ICBC on time to ensure continued access to our services.

First full gear practice for the last night and super excited to be back working in youth football again! So grateful for everyone in the organization for allowing me to be involved in building this organization from the ground up and thankful for all the hard work they have (and continue to) put in. Loving the chances I get to share some of these experiences with my little girl as well!
