Why do I use it? 🌿🌿🌿
I use it often to improve digestion by calming the nervous system, reducing the impact of stress on digestion. It is excellent to support stress and mental health concerns, like anxiety and depression.

What does the research show? 🧐🧐🧐
Constituents have demonstrated various activities, such as reducing inflammation, reducing digestive spasming, and having anxiolytic activity (i.e. reducing anxiety).

How do I use it? 🥼🥼🥼
Skullcap has traditional use in naturopathic medicine alongside gentian to improve digestion. Slightly bitter and calming to the nervous system, it helps support indigestion and intestinal hyperpermeability (“leaky gut”).

On National Indigenous People's Day I celebrate the herbal knowledge that has been shared by Indigenous people. As a naturopathic doctor and herbalist, we honor the traditional use of herbs as well as the scientific knowledge about them. Herbs like nettles, dandelion and Oregon grape have been used for thousands of years by our local Indigenous people and stand the test of time today.

Clinic Update re COVID - OPEN!

We are pleased to be open for in-person visits and have implemented extensive safety procedures. I will continue to “see” patients via telemedicine: telephone or video calls if they prefer. Now more than ever people are wanting to focus on their health. We all want to stay as strong and resilient as possible despite the stresses we inevitably face at this time. Naturopathic physicians can help you stay focused on your health goals, advise you on health matters, refill prescriptions, run (important) labs, counsel you on stress management tools and much more. Most extended health insurance plans cover naturopathic consultations.

While prescription refills require an appointment, supplement refills and sales can be picked up in the office.

We’re open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 to 5:30 and Fridays until 3:00. For info call 250 897-0235 or email drdmac2@gmail.com. (Messenger isn’t the best way to reach us).

Stay safe, stay calm, and be well,
