An important reminder, ! On the evenings of Monday, November 17 and Tuesday, November 18, 2025, we will be conducting inspections and cleaning of the intake screens at the Phillips Reservoir. This work will take place overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and is a necessary step in ongoing project planning for the Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility currently being developed by the City.

During this period, residents may notice temporary changes in water quality, including elevated turbidity levels and potential fluctuations in chlorine concentrations (both high and low). As a precautionary measure, the City will be putting a Water Quality Advisory into effect on November 17, 2025 and it will remain in effect until further notice.

Customers may also experience low water pressure or temporary interruptions to water service during this work.

We ask water customers to refrain from using water during the overnight hours on November 17 and 18 unless it is absolutely necessary. Customers are strongly encouraged to keep a supply of water available in their homes to allow for drinking, cooking, doing dishes, and flushing toilets while this work is completed.

Both the Interior Health Authority (IHA) and the City of Cranbrook recommend that children, the elderly, those with weakened immune systems, or anyone who wishes additional protection use boiled water or a safe alternative for:

• Drinking
• Washing fruits and vegetables
• Making beverages or ice
• Brushing teeth

Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use.

We will continue to monitor water quality closely and provide updates as needed. Visit Cranbrook Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce

With the new school year starting, please remember that school zones are back in effect. Slow down, stay alert, and keep our communities safe.

For more tips on how to , check out this helpful post from the City of Kamloops.

This September, thousands of students in Kamloops will be walking, biking, taking the bus, or being dropped off at school. Let’s make sure they all arrive safely.

Motorists, remember to:
✔️ slow down in school zones
✔️ watch for kids crossing and cyclists
✔️ obey crossing guards
✔️ always stop for school buses with flashing red lights

Together, we can keep our roads safe for students this school year.
