My top tips for improving your sleep TODAY!

My books showed up! So excited to be diving into new areas and learning. Particularly motived by self interest to fix my own health issues, then being able to share what I have tested and worked afterwords.

Hey Facebook Fam!

Although I don't look impressed in this photo I'm actually very pleased!

The worst thing I find when it comes to health is not knowing what is the cause of my symptoms.

Recently I started diving into Histamine research and its been very enlightening. It seems highly likely I'm suffering from histamine intolerance.

Which for me, now that I know means that I can experiment with a low histamine diet and see what happens.

Cause really that's how I've been able to radically transform my health over these last 8 years.

I'm always learning and improving. 👌📚

I'll keep you all updated with my results. ❤

Your anxiety and overwhelm might be a symptom of chronic sleep deprivation.

Hey Fam, this is something I haven't talked about before but was honestly a symptom of trying to build Paleo GO. Working 80 hour weeks and sleeping sometimes only 3 hours in a night.
🛏

My life literally changed in an instant, when I noticed my daily struggle with anxiety was gone.

I was shocked! It hit me like a ton of bricks when I realized its absence. Plagued for years and now it was just gone.

I used to get overwhelmed when I would have many basic tasks to do. If I was trying to make coffee, feed my cat, fill up the water filter, and answer a question from my partner. I would feel this swelling in my chest like I couldn't handle everything. The powerful urge to stop everything and just freeze.

So what changed?

I stopped trying to "hack" my sleep and strive work as many hours as possible.

Driven by my ambitions, I've always experimented with ways to reduce my sleep and wake up earlier to get more done.

One day I decided I was done with being exhausted all day. I had to change something! I decided to experiment... committing to sleeping with no alarm and letting my body decide how much sleep it needed.

I had tried this before and it had always failed. This time was different because I knew there would be a pain period where I would over sleep for some time. So I told myself that I would try this for 30 days before making a change. I would give myself that time, fully expecting to sleep 12 hour nights for the month.

And I did sleep 12 hour nights, but only for the first week. Now what was hard is that first week I felt like s**t, and worse than I did before. Groggy and with half my day gone.

Around day nine my sleep normalized to around 9-10 hours which wasn't so bad and I started feeling amazing and rested when I woke up.

Then around the two week mark I found myself in one of those situations where I was trying to do many things at once. Yet instead of feeling overwhelmed and tight in my chest I just did each task without resistance. It was only after that I realized what had happened. Since then my life has been absolutely improved.

So if you struggling with anxiety and overwhelm and haven't considered your sleep as a factor. I would highly encourage you to explore that area because it may be the root cause...

Hey Facebook Fam!

To me this is the real reason to pursue health. Not for it to be this static thing I chase. But instead so that I can do everything else in my life better.

Be a better friend, partner, mentor, student, etc. So that I can show up more fully me in the rest of my life.

Why are you pursing a healthier you?
Drop comment, I'd love to know why you do the hard things that come with wanting to improve your health. ❤

Hey Fam! Here are the top 5 tips to dealing with bored eating and cravings during isolation.

I have had a number of friends reach out and express that they are struggling with over snacking and their usual healthy diet is starting to slip.

I've noticed myself struggle with more boredom than usual, so I wanted to make a video about how I deal with cravings when I know that they aren't true hunger.

Bored eating and cravings are often produced because our minds want a distraction, and food is an easy distraction. Especially boredom has a bit of tiredness built in, so our bodies are signally for carbs and sweet things because it knows that carbs are a quick burn for more energy.

Check out the video to hear about how I deal with cravings like these, I bet at least 1 or 2 will be new things you haven't heard before. 👌

Also let me know if you have any questions, and I can make a video around it. I've got over 8 years of knowledge and experience really diving deep into nutrition, health and wellness.

Happy Friday and hope you all have a lovely weekend!
