Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is based on a belief in Yin and Yang, defined as opposing energies, such as earth and heaven, winter and summer, and happiness and sadness and TCM is about finding ways to balance opposing energies in a harmonious state.

TCM emphasizes whole body-wellness and well-being, and having a gratitude practice is a way to nourish both. I wanted to share this photo from a recent trip with my Brother because time with loved ones is something nourishing for my well-being, because it is something that I am truly grateful for.

May gratitude and harmony bless your weekend abundantly. Happy Friday all! 🙂

Wisdom Wednesday

The path to achieving joy is to live your life with wisdom and purpose. For thousands of years, the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine has harnessed the power of acupuncture as a gentle yet potent healing modality. This ancient practice is renowned for its ability to restore balance, increase vitality, and alleviate pain, offering a holistic approach to wellness.

Sleep well, speak well, think well and life will illuminate both wellness and wisdoms across your day.

Warmly,

SOLAR ECLIPSE

The alignment of cosmic energies during an eclipse is thought to amplify the effects of rituals, meditation, and intention-setting, making it an auspicious time for personal growth and manifestation. Which is magnified by the Spring and Wood element (as mentioned in our previous post), meaning today is a potent day for manifestation and intention setting.

For those fortunate enough to witness the solar eclipse (view at aprox 25% here in Creston) on April 8, 2024, there is an opportunity to tap into this mystical energy and connect with your own ancient wisdom arising across all of the ages.

Whether you choose to participate in traditional rituals inspired by ancient Chinese practices, or simply spend quiet moments in contemplation amidst the awe-inspiring beauty of the eclipse, there is no doubt that this celestial event will leave a lasting impression on all who experience it.

Spring is a time of re-birth and new growth; time for outward expression

Like the first signs of plant life that burst out of the earth. It is a time for new beginnings and waking up. Spring is governed by the Wood element and the Liver organ in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

The Liver circulates energy (Qi) and blood around your body and is responsible for clear vision and direction in life, creativity, healthy bowel movements, and regular menstruation (without PMS) to name a few.

A balanced Liver is pivotal to the maintenance of good health and Yoga, Qi Gong, dance, walking in and connecting with nature, acupuncture, and massage all move Qi and support your Liver.

Have a healthy day!

APRIL 1

Laozi is a central figure in Chinese Culture and is better known by the Romanized version of his name “Lao Tzu”, the author of the Tao Te Ching.

Laozi was an ancient Chinese Philosopher who is best known for founding the philosophical system of Taoism, which is a diverse tradition of ancient Chinese philosophy that originated more than 2000 years ago.

Today’s quote is from The Tao Te Ching which is a book of great wisdom. While much of Laozi’s life is shrouded in obscurity, his writings shows us that his focus was the cultivation of a state of inner calm and purity of mind.

How can we follow the way of the Tao? Be in harmony with all things. Practice developing a deep love for yourself, practice self-care, spend time outdoors, find ways to cultivate peace, by being in the present moment.
