“Nostalgia is not a strategy.” I agree. That’s why the privatization of our public healthcare system doesn’t make strategic sense.
Privatization is what we had in 🇨🇦Pre—Medicare. Canadians had to pay out-of-pocket or go without. Why would there be any wistful affection for this type of past?
Going back there is only regression . So we need to use the full force of the CHA to stop provinces from being impetuous as they continue to dismantle our public healthcare system. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

The Alberta government has ordered a review after 44‑year‑old Prashanth Sreekumar died of an apparent cardiac arrest while waiting in an emergency department in Edmonton. He had presented to Grey Nuns Community Hospital with chest pain but allegedly waited nearly eight hours to see a doctor before collapsing.

Health Minister Matt Jones directed Acute Care Alberta and Covenant Health to jointly review the circumstances and factors surrounding the death. The new provincial health agency will help lead the review and implement recommendations, while the chief medical examiner has launched an independent investigation. A GoFundMe has been set up for Sreekumar’s family.
