Well… so much for our spring post 😅

We were just getting ready to welcome the warmer weather—and now we’re talking snowstorms again. Classic.

Due to the expected storm, we’ll be delaying our opening at both clinics until 10:00 AM to give everyone time to travel safely. We will provide an update at 8am on the status of our opening.

Stay safe, take your time getting out there, and online shop your favourite local businesses. This winter has been a doozy!

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜

Today we’re celebrating the incredible women on our team. They are leaders, clinicians, mentors, and role models who inspire their patients—and each other—every single day. Their passion for helping people move better, recover stronger, and perform at their best is what makes our clinics so special.

We’re also proud to help inspire the next generation. Through our co-op and student placement programs, we create opportunities for young women to explore careers in health care and sport performance.

Each year we also award a scholarship to a female high school athlete pursuing a sport-related field, because supporting women in sport and health isn’t just about today—it’s about the future. By creating opportunities, mentorship, and support, we can continue tightening the gap and opening more doors for women in sport, science, and leadership.

To the amazing women on our team—and the next generation coming up behind them—thank you for the impact you make every day. 💪✨

🚨 Bittersweet clinic update 🚨

Today is Lauren’s last day with us. To know Lauren is truly to love her. She has been such a fun, positive part of our clinic and someone who could always make both patients and our team smile.

While we’re so sad to see her go, we’re also really happy for her as she heads home to Newfoundland to be closer to her family.

Lauren, thank you for everything you brought to the clinic. Your energy, kindness, and sense of fun will be so missed around here.

Naturally, we celebrated our through and through Newfoundlander by going Axe Throwing and eating Craig's Cookies.

We’re going to miss you a lot — but we’re so excited for this next chapter for you. 💜

Mother Nature is at it again…

Both ACCEL clinics will have a delayed opening at 9:00am today due to the forecasted snow.

We want to make sure our team and patients can travel safely this morning. If you have an early appointment and need to adjust it, please reach out to the front desk and we’ll get you sorted.

Jaw pain isn’t just “something you live with.”

TMJ discomfort, headaches, facial tension — they’re common, but they’re treatable.

Laser therapy is one of the tools we use to help calm irritation, reduce inflammation, and support tissue healing around the jaw. It’s comfortable, targeted, and part of a bigger plan that includes hands-on care and corrective exercise.

Using targeted visual drills like laser tracking helps improve coordination, reaction time, and tolerance to movement — all key pieces in getting back to school, work, and sport safely.

Rehab is specific.

What are we measuring here? 👀

This athlete is performing a Drop Jump — stepping off a box, landing on the force plates, and rebounding straight back into the air.

Looks simple. It’s not.

Using our force plates from VALD, we’re measuring:

⚡ Ground contact time
⚡ Jump height
⚡ Reactive Strength Index (RSI)
⚡ Limb asymmetries
⚡ Force absorption & production

This tells us how efficiently the athlete can absorb force and re-produce it quickly — which is critical for sprinting, cutting, skating, and returning to play after injury.

A long ground contact time? We build reactivity.
Good height but slow off the ground? We train stiffness.
Asymmetry? We correct it before it becomes a problem.

At ACCEL, we don’t guess.

We build resilient, explosive athletes.

🌨️ This winter storm graphic is getting old… fast. February has been coming in hot (and snowy ❄️).

For today:

📍 Dartmouth clinic will be closing at 1:30 PM
📍 Halifax clinic will be closing at 4:00 PM

The safety of our patients and team comes first — especially with these February storms rolling through.

We’re planning to reopen tomorrow as usual, but we’ll post an update later today once we see what Mother Nature has planned next.
