Last but certainly not least, meet Dr. Miriam Coulthard! 🐾

Dr. Miriam is a true generalist - she loves a bit of everything.

From urgent care to minor procedures, she enjoys building detailed treatment plans to get hospitalized patients home as soon as possible (including a little extra love and attention).

In appointments, she prefers to go at her patients pace, doing her best to foster a calm and caring atmosphere. 💙

She loves mixed breed dogs of all shapes and sizes. 🐶

Dr. Miriam believes that most care happens at home, she strives to empower pet families with information and treatment plans that are both manageable and beneficial. ❤️‍🩹

Our next amazing doctor to introduce is Dr. Erin Fuller! 🐾

Dr Fuller is a small-animal veterinarian with over a decade of experience dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia—firmly believing that “There is no age too old for anesthesia.” Known for her calm, detail-oriented approach, Dr Fuller is committed to making every procedure as safe and comfortable as possible. ❤️‍🩹

Outside the operating room, she’s especially fond of feline medicine and is happiest when guiding her clients to provide longer, healthier lives for their feline family members. 😻

Meet the wonderful Dr. Susan Taylor! Our rehab and sporting dog aficionado 💙

While Dr. Taylor can often be found with an ultrasound or therapeutic laser in her hands, she is also passionate about client education. She particularly loves setting new pet owners up for success.

Sighthounds are her true loves, and she is a proud participating member of the local dog sport community. Dr. Taylor also has a special fondness for tabby cats! She recently, and unexpectedly acquired her sweet girl Mimi, who had no reservations about joining her adventurous pack of pointies. 🐈

Next up is Dr. Emma Jessiman! 💙

Dr. Emma has special interest in dermatology and a passion for improving her patients quality of life. She is committed to building long-term relationships with her patients and the families who love them, ensuring continuity of care and a deep understanding of each animal’s unique needs. 🐶

With a gentle, low-stress approach, Dr. Emma strives to make every visit as comfortable and positive as possible, whether it’s a nervous first-time visitor, or a long-standing patient.

And while she adores animals of all shapes and sizes, she holds a particularly special place in her heart for terriers and their big personalities.

Dr. Emma is excited to continue building trusted partnerships with families in the community and looks forward to caring for your pets throughout every stage of their lives. 🐾

Meet Dr. Jessica McCarron, our other hospital co-owner! 💙

For the past decade, Dr. McCarron has had the privilege of caring for pets through every stage of life. From their very first puppy and kitten visits to guiding families through the most difficult end-of-life decisions. Her priority is always to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for, and to ensure their family feels confident knowing their companion is in the hands of someone who truly has their best interest at heart. ❤️

While she adores all of her patients, she has a special soft spot for a scruffy wire-haired face (bonus points if they’re a terrier). 🐕

Outside of appointments, she has a special passion for Dentistry. Dr. McCarron finds it incredibly rewarding to see how dental care can transform a pet’s comfort, health, and overall quality of life.

It’s been a while since we’ve introduced our amazing DVM team. Starting with one of our co-owners Dr. Jessica Thompson 💙🐾
She is passionate about fostering meaningful, long-term relationships with families and their animals. To her, veterinary care goes far beyond treatment—it’s about trust, understanding, and ensuring every pet receives the compassionate support they deserve. She takes great pride in offering personalised care, guiding owners through each stage of their pet’s life, and helping them make informed decisions with confidence.

At Burnside Vet Hospital, Dr. Thompson’s goal is to ensure every patient feels safe, valued, and supported while delivering the highest standard of modern veterinary medicine. She has a special interest in dermatology and feline medicine and as an AAFP Feline Friendly–certified practitioner, she is committed to creating a low-stress, supportive environment.
