Massage myths.
Myth: Massage is just for relaxation.
➡️ Truth: While relaxation is a beautiful benefit, therapeutic massage also supports circulation, lymphatic flow, joint mobility, muscle recovery, scar tissue management, and nervous system regulation.
Myth: If it doesn’t hurt, it isn’t working.
➡️ Truth: Effective treatment does not require pain. When the nervous system feels safe, muscles respond more effectively and lasting change is more likely. Intensity is a tool — not a requirement.
Myth: Massage fixes you.
➡️ Truth: Massage supports your body and can absolutely provide meaningful relief. But it’s one tool in the toolbox. Long-term wellness often involves collaboration — your medical team, movement, strength, mobility work, nutrition, stress management, and more.
Myth: Massage is only for older adults with joint problems.
➡️ Truth: Massage can benefit every stage of life — from athletes and busy parents to teens, office workers, and seniors. It supports recovery, posture, stress management, injury prevention, and overall function — not just joint care.
