This week, we’re celebrating Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) Week - recognizing the skill, dedication, and care that our MRTs bring to the DRDH team every day.

MRTs play a vital role in patient care, using advanced imaging technologies and treatment techniques to help diagnose and guide care plans with precision and compassion.

This week and always, we thank our incredible MRT team, including Tammy, Jennifer, and Renee pictured here, for their professionalism, technical expertise, and commitment to patient well-being. Your work makes a difference every single day.🩵

Yesterday was "Take Our Kids to Work Day", and we were thrilled to welcome students into our organization for a fun, hands-on day exploring the many careers that make up our health campus. From "glow bug" handwashing challenges and lab demos to culinary creations with our dietary team, students got a real taste of what it’s like to work in health care.

Thank you to all our team members, students, and volunteer hosts who made the day such a memorable experience! 💙

Happy Retirement Sue! ⛵️

Please join us in congratulating Susan Ripley-Girard on her well-deserved retirement!

Sue has been a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist with EORLA/Deep River District Health for an incredible 22 years, and has served as an MLT for a total of 41 years! Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and compassion—making a lasting impact on her colleagues, patients, and the community she served.

Her commitment to quality care and excellence in laboratory medicine has been an inspiration to all who have had the pleasure of working with her.

💐 Thank you, Sue, for your many years of dedication and service! We wish you all the best in this next exciting chapter of life.

Our team came together today to celebrate "Pink Day" in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month - raising awareness for early detection, screening, and women’s health. 🎀🩷

We’re also celebrating the North Renfrew Family Health Team's Well Women’s Cancer Screening Day taking place today. This special event offers mammograms and Pap tests for those without a family doctor or nurse practitioner, providing an opportunity to help remove barriers to screening and promote women’s health in our community.

🦠🧫Last week, we celebrated Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Week at DRDH - and it was contagiously fun! 🦠🧫

Our IPAC Nurse, Alana, led a week full of activities and reminders to keep our organization safe and healthy. From testing our knowledge with an IPAC quiz, “spot the germs” game, flu shots, cheering on our IPAC MVPs, and enjoying a BBQ lunch where everyone was reminded to wash those wings (hands, that is!), our team proved that prevention truly is the best medicine.

Thank you to Alana for your leadership and enthusiasm in keeping infection prevention and control top of mind all year long!
