🎄We volunteers at the Deep River and Area Food Bank very much appreciate all the support from our local community—through donations of non-perishable products, cheques, Cram the Cruiser, food drives, and quick responses to our requests on Facebook for certain products in low supply.

This is a time of year for counting our blessing, and this community is definitely a wonderful blessing. Your desire to help those who are struggling to make ends meet is truly appreciated!🎄

The food bank is gearing up for a busy December to help families during the holiday season. Loblaw’s Feed More Families program makes a financial donation to the local food bank based on the weight of donations made by The Independent customers from now until December 24. You can donate during Cram the Cruiser on Saturday December 6, or at any time by placing non-perishable food in the food bank’s donation bin inside The Independent.

Basic food staples are always welcome. If you wish to donate items specifically for the holidays, such as canned cranberry sauce, stuffing, cookies, crackers or other holiday treats, please do so by December 6 as these items are distributed throughout December.🎄❤️

Deep River and Area Food Bank and Deep River and District Health recently received donations from the employees at Des Joachims Generating Station. The cash donation was from monthly charity luncheons at the station. Thanks to all who donated!
