Last week, the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society (DHAS) visited the Operating Room at Delta Hospital for a behind-the-scenes look at the new Ophthalmic Surgical Microscope System they helped fund through their remarkable $800,000 commitment in 2025.
This state-of-the-art surgical microscope is used primarily for cataract procedures and provides Delta Hospital’s ophthalmologists with highly precise visualization during surgery. Its advanced digital features allow surgical alignment without touching the eye, while reduced light intensity improves patient comfort and surgical efficiency.
With more than 8,000 day surgeries performed at Delta Hospital each year, including approximately 1,400 cataract and other eye procedures, this $390,000 investment will have a meaningful impact on patient care in our community.
We are incredibly grateful to DHAS for their ongoing generosity and dedication to ensuring exceptional care, close to home.
