The Beedie Long Term Care Centre is not cancelled — it’s temporarily paused while the Province reviews long term care project costs across B.C. Early site work continues including pre-load, and more than $15M in provincial funding has already been invested in planning and site readiness.

To our donors and community: All donor gifts are held by Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation, fully restricted to this project. No donor funds have been released. The Foundation remains fully committed to the Beedie Long Term Care Centre — through strong advocacy, responsible stewardship, and open communication. We’ll continue standing with our community as this important work continues.

Endoscopy is where prevention begins. These minimally invasive procedures use a small camera to diagnose concerns early and prevent disease before it progresses. In a single visit, endoscopy can detect cancer, remove pre‑cancerous growths, investigate symptoms, and deliver life‑saving care.

Procedures like colonoscopy and gastroscopy are powerful tools for early detection and faster answers. Colorectal cancer affects more than 25,000 people in Canada each year and is the second leading cause of cancer‑related death. In BC alone, 3,630 people are diagnosed annually and 1,300 lives are lost. When detected early, up to 90 percent of cases are preventable or treatable.

Delta deserves timely access to this essential care. Investing in endoscopy means earlier detection and more lives saved.

As we celebrate National Medical Laboratory Week, we’re proud to spotlight the Nikon Light Microscope for Hematology in the Clinical Lab at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care. This equipment was funded by the DHCH Foundation, thanks to the generous support of the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society.

This essential piece of laboratory equipment is used daily to examine blood smears and assess blood cells, providing the clarity and precision our laboratory professionals rely on to support accurate diagnoses. Thank you to the clinical laboratory team for their expertise, dedication, and vital behind the scenes work, which plays a critical role in ensuring high‑quality patient care every day.
