It usually takes quite a lot of snow for us to close but it has gotten very messy out there overnight with driving conditions are still uncertain. We’re spending the morning digging out and then recharging to prepare for our normal schedule tomorrow!

T’is the season of dry skin, babes!

We may not need to change every single product in our routine risking the results we’ve been maintaining the rest of the year. A simple addition to accommodate dry skin is often all we need!

For very dry skin I love the Hydrolox oil, this is deeply nourishing without feeling greasy or clogging pores. It is ideal to add a drop or two into your serums, mists, or moisturizer to lock in even more moisture.

For all skin types including oily skin I do love the Moisture on Demand. This lotion serum increases moisture in skin types that need that extra boost during seasonal changes.

A client favourite: Aquaporin!
This moisturizer uses an ingredient called difuporin to stimulate the aquaporin channels in the skin to hold onto moisture for longer reducing trans epidermal water loss throughout the day.

1.5 years of consistency, patience, and a perfectly chosen skincare routine 🩵

Controlling acne and maintaining those results takes time. This client has been maintaining since July, so a little over a year to control the acne and then 6 months of consistent maintenance allowing the scarring to heal over time. We’ve just begun a Microneedling program to address the left over scarring and uneven tone from the healed acne lesions.

Acne treatment is not linear or quick no matter if we are dealing with prescriptions or over the counter treatments or in clinic treatments. Which is better for you depends on what level of side effects you want to deal with and which is easily maintainable long term (if possible- something like accutane is not safe long term but can be a short term option for some people).

Maintaining results doesn’t have a time limit, you may have to use the system that cleared your acne for several years to maintain and maybe even longer. Much like weightloss results from gym workouts and diet changes need to be maintained with those same gym workouts and diet changes to avoid losing those results, your skin is the same. And much like the journey of weightloss, your skin will experience fluctuations and you will have good weeks and bad weeks. This is normal and expected.

It will be worth it in the end!

I am beyond thrilled with this update!! For context we have two sets of before and afters:
Photos 1,2, & 3 are a before and after from the very beginning of this clients acne journey (July 2023 to today, January 2026. 2.5 years). The second set of three photos are just the results most recent 3 sessions of Microneedling (September 2025 to today, January 2026)

When I’m asked how long does it take to get results the answer is always ‘it depends’ because not all acne types treat the same, not all skin types can take the same level of treatment, and not everyone has the same idea of what those final results are meant to look like. For this client we were both very happy with how well her acne was controlled after a year (2023-2024) and we knew part of her preferred results in the end would be to target some of the textured scars. As her acne cleared we also decided to take on the pigmentation. We have more Microneedling on the calendar to continue the progress on the scarring and pigmentation so we’ll have another update in around 7-8 more months!
