The S.P.O.R.T. Specialists inc. Our mission is to empower and enable our clients/members to regain quality and control of their movements to enjoy their activities and sports. S.P.O.R.T.

Specialists Inc. was created to offer Sports Performance Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Training to active individuals of all ages and skill level motivated in improving their overall health and well being. Our team of qualified professionals is committed to provide comprehensive evaluations identifying muscle imbalances, developing a plan to progressively correct these weaknesses and ultimately improve functional biomechanics and performance.

See if you can unsupport your torso with one hand and watch out for a shift in your body or pelvic positioning. Aim to stay level and controlled and to be as close to symmetrical as possible!

Suspect a rotator cuff injury?

Swipe through the 5 exercises we love (and why) to help restore mobility, stability, and strength through the shoulder 👇

1️⃣ Lacrosse ball release - Helps release tension in the overactive muscles that can limit shoulder motion and contribute to impingnement

2️⃣ Wall slides - Improves shoulder flexion range of motion and retrains the shoulder blade to move smoothly with the arm - a key before strengthening

3️⃣ Serratus wall slide with band - Targets the serratus anterior and rotator cuff synergy, teaching proper scapular control and upward rotation during overhead movement

4️⃣ Band walkouts ER - Strengthens the infraspinatus and teres minor, helping stabilize the shoulder and prevent anterior translation of the humeral head

5️⃣ Band walkouts IR - Works the subscapularis to balance the cuff, promoting even strength around the joint and better shoulder mechanics overall
