You’ve probably been told bloating = too much stomach acid.
But in many cases? It’s actually too little. 👀

Low stomach acid can make it harder to digest food, absorb nutrients, and even lead to bloating, reflux, or fatigue while you’re eating “healthy.”

Here’s the thing: stomach acid isn’t bad.
It’s essential for breaking down protein, absorbing minerals, and keeping your gut balanced.

💡 Try this:
✨ Eat slowly (digestion starts in your brain!)
✨ Add a squeeze of lemon or a splash of apple cider vinegar to water and consume before meals (if tolerated)
✨ Relax before you eat because stress shuts digestion down fast

Your symptoms aren’t random, they’re communication.
When you support digestion at the root, everything else feels lighter (literally). 💛

If this sounds like you and you’re ready to finally feel good in your gut again, my Glowing Gut Protocol walks you through how to rebuild digestion step by step, without restriction, just real food and calm habits that work. 🌿

It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself, so hi again 👋🏼 I’m Britt.

I’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, kombucha brewmaster, and lover of matcha. I help busy women feel like themselves again without cutting out all the fun stuff.

I’m passionate about where science meets real life, because it’s not just about knowing what to do, it’s about being able to actually do it in the middle of a busy, beautiful, messy life.

I help women create balance by supporting blood sugar and adrenals, easing inflammation, and improving gut health so they can feel good around food again and find more energy in their everyday life without adding more stress to their plate.

Whether you’re a new mom, a busy business woman, or just plain busy, it’s time to make time and space for you 💛

If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been around for a while, I’m so glad you’re here.

Sometimes dinner just needs to feel like a hug in a bowl.
You know those nights where you want mac and cheese energy… but also want to feel good after? This is that meal. 🧡

Roasted butternut squash, sweet onion, and garlic get blended with coconut milk and nutritional yeast into a velvety, “cheesy” sauce. Toss it with your favourite pasta, top with crispy kale chips and everything-seasoned panko… and just like that, comfort food meets nourishment.

✨ Save this one for your next cozy night in.

Some days, wellness looks like…

🍳 eating eggs and toast (again) because simple is all your brain can handle.
🚶‍♀️ pushing the stroller around the block because that’s the only movement that fits.
☀️ standing in the sun for 60 seconds between tasks, because that counts too.
🧺 folding laundry while listening to a podcast that makes you feel human again.

No green juices, no fancy routines, just small, steady acts of care.

The truth is that real wellness isn’t about perfect routines.
It’s about consistent care, even when life is messy.

Your body doesn’t need you to be perfect.
It needs you to be present.

You’re doing better than you think. 💛

Can we please stop saying anxiety is “just in your head”? Because it’s not.

Anxiety lives in your blood sugar.
In your gut health.
In your nervous system.
In your nutrient levels, sleep, and stress hormones.

You don’t “think” your way out of anxiety — you support your way out of it.

Here’s what I’ve been doing lately to regulate again (and what I teach my clients inside my programs) ↓
➤ Eating protein every 3–4 hours
➤ Turning off email notifications after work
➤ Morning sunlight + grounding (even 5 minutes)
➤ Asking for help: uncomfortable but necessary
➤ Staying hydrated like it’s my full-time job
➤ Gentle movement + restorative yoga to calm my system

A reminder: You don’t have to be perfect to feel better. You just have to support your body. 💛

This week’s grocery haul includes some of my fall faves:
🥚 Eggs & Greek yogurt – protein to keep blood sugar steady and support hormones
🥑 Avocado – healthy fats for satiety and mood balance
🫐 Blueberries & frozen berries – antioxidants that help reduce inflammation
🥦 Broccoli – fiber and compounds that support liver detoxification
🍌 Banana – easy-to-digest carbs that support energy and the gut-brain connection
🥛 Kefir – probiotics for a healthy gut microbiome
🍂 Seasonal squashes (like butternut, spaghetti & acorn) – rich in fibre, B vitamins, and magnesium to support digestion and calm the nervous system
🥂 and of course, a stop at for a little bubbly gut love

Nourishing your gut and stress doesn’t have to mean overhauling your routine — it’s about building a cart (and habits) that support you from the inside out 💛

Ever feel like your energy, mood, or focus is all over the place?
Your blood sugar might have something to do with it 👇

Here are some common signs of blood sugar instability (aka dysglycemia):
✨ Afternoon crashes that leave you reaching for coffee
✨ Intense sugar or carb cravings
✨ Feeling “hangry” if you go too long without eating
✨ Brain fog and trouble focusing
✨ Waking up at 2–3 AM (cortisol kicks in when blood sugar dips)
✨ Shakiness, jitters, or lightheadedness between meals
✨ Mood swings tied to glucose highs and lows
✨ Feeling exhausted even after a full night’s sleep

Here’s what’s happening: when blood sugar spikes and crashes, your body releases stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline to bring glucose levels back up. That rollercoaster can mess with energy, mood, cravings, sleep, and even gut health over time.

The good news is you don’t need to cut out your favorite foods to feel better. Small shifts like eating balanced meals with protein, fat, and fiber, not skipping meals, and supporting stress can go a long way to keep things steady.

Your body loves balance 💛 and when your blood sugar is more stable, everything from your energy to your digestion to your hormones can thank you.

Want to dive deeper? Tune into this week’s episode of The Balance with Britt Podcast — The 3PM Energy Crash: What’s Really Going On (and How to Fix It) with Kelly Carter. You’ll get even more insight and practical tips you can start using right away.

10/07/2025

It’s 3PM, you’re dragging, your brain feels foggy, and suddenly you’re reaching for coffee or something sweet just to keep going.

I’ll tell you. That crash is not because of a caffeine deficiency. There’s more at play and we chat about it in this weeks episode of The Balance with Britt Podcast with guest

Most women chalk this up to “just being tired,” but the truth is, that mid-afternoon crash is usually a sign of blood sugar imbalance.

That’s exactly what I sat down to talk about with Kelly Carter, RNP and cofounder of RenewRx, on this week’s episode of The Balance with Britt Podcast.

We chat all about:
✨ What’s actually happening in your body when you crash
✨ Everyday habits (like skipping lunch or “just one more coffee”) that make things worse
✨ Signs of blood sugar imbalance you might not know about
✨ Kelly’s simple, non-negotiable strategies for steady energy all day long

It’s not about perfection or cutting everything out. It’s about small, realistic changes that make a huge difference.

🎧 Tune in anywhere you listen to podcasts

You don’t have to live at the mercy of the 3PM slump. This conversation will show you how to support your body so you can feel steady, energized, and focused every day.
