✨ Weekend Mindfulness Practice: “The 5–4–3–2–1 Reset” ✨

If things feel overwhelming or chaotic over the weekend, try this gentle grounding exercise:

• 5 things you can see – Look around slowly and name them
• 4 things you can feel – Notice textures, temperature, or your breath
• 3 things you can hear – Let sounds come to you without searching
• 2 things you can smell – Or simply notice the air around you
• 1 thing you can focus on within yourself – A feeling, your heartbeat, or your breath

Take your time. There is no rush.
This moment is enough. You are allowed to slow down.

Wishing you a peaceful and restorative long weekend 💛

March is closing… and spring is gently arriving 🌱

As we step into April, this is your reminder that self-care doesn’t have to be big or perfect — it just has to be intentional.

End-of-month check-in:
• What are you carrying that you don’t need to take into April?
• What felt heavy this month that you’re ready to soften?
• What is one small thing that brought you even a moment of peace?

🌿 Try this simple reset:
Step outside for 5 minutes.
Take a slow breath in… and a longer breath out.
Let your shoulders drop.
Remind yourself: “I’m allowed to start fresh.”

Spring isn’t about having it all together — it’s about beginning again, gently.

You’re allowed to grow at your own pace. 🌼

If you’re wanting support with your own spring reset, we’re here for you.
Book with us at Source of Strength Healing and let us help you reconnect, and to find your source of strength, and heal. 💛

Happy Pi Day! 🥧

π is infinite—its numbers never repeat and never truly end.
Kind of like the process of healing and self-discovery.

Growth doesn’t always move in a straight line…
sometimes it spirals, expands, and surprises us.

And that’s okay.

Really excited to be attending this year’s Alberta First Responders Association Mental Health Conference and Gala.

It was great listening to Daniel from DanSun Health speak about How Trauma Challenges Relationships—such an important and impactful topic.

Looking forward to the gala this evening and continuing these meaningful conversations.

✨ End-of-Week Grounding Reset ✨
Busy weeks can leave your nervous system running on empty. Before you move into your weekend, try one of these simple grounding techniques to help your body and mind settle.

🌿 1. 5–4–3–2–1 Check-In
Name 5 things you see,
4 you feel,
3 you hear,
2 you smell, and
1 you taste.

This gently brings your attention back to the present moment.

🌿 2. Drop the Shoulders + Exhale
Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 seconds while dropping your shoulders. Repeat 3–5 times.

🌿 3. Feet on the Floor
Place both feet flat on the ground. Notice the pressure, temperature, and support beneath you. Remind yourself: “I am here. I am safe.”

💛 Your nervous system deserves rest, too.
Which one will you try today?

🕊️ Remembrance Day 🕊️

Today, we pause in gratitude and reflection.
We remember those who bravely fought, those who came home carrying unseen wounds, and those who never returned.

Their courage and sacrifice have shaped the freedoms we live with today.
May we honour their legacy not only in silence, but through compassion, peace, and understanding in our daily lives.

Lest we forget. ❤️

Sometimes healing looks like this — mountains in the distance, coffee in hand, and permission to do absolutely nothing.
Rest isn’t laziness; it’s the body and mind recalibrating.
Breathe in the stillness. Let the quiet do its work. ☕🏔️

Here is your gentle reminder to rest and rejuvenate this weekend.

🧡 Today we pause to honor Truth and Reconciliation Day.
We remember the children who never came home, the survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities forever impacted.

This is a day to reflect, to listen, and to commit ourselves to ongoing learning, understanding, and meaningful action. Together, we walk the path toward healing and reconciliation.

☀️ Midweek Mindfulness — Ground & Glow this Wednesday 🌿

Wednesdays can feel heavy — like we’re stuck between the start and the finish line. Take a moment today to slow down, tune in, and reconnect.

Mindful Summer Grounding Tip:

🌸 Barefoot Pause: Step outside. Let your feet touch the warm earth, grass, or sand. Close your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths.
Feel the textures, the temperature, the weight of your body being supported. You are here. You are held. You are home.

Try This:
☀️ Sip your iced tea or lemon water mindfully
🪻 Notice the colour of the sky
🍃 Run your hands through lavender or basil if nearby — inhale deeply

Midweek doesn’t need to mean burnout. Let it mean balance.

✨ “Even the sun pauses at noon.” ✨

🌧️ Monday Morning Vibes 🌧️ as it’s rainy here today in Drayton Valley
For the slow, rainy kind of day…

Not every Monday needs a hustle. Some are made for slower starts, cozy cups of tea, and gentle healing.
Here are 3 soul-soothing ways to start your week with intention:

🫖 Sip & Settle — Wrap your hands around a warm mug. Breathe in the steam. Exhale the weight of expectations.

🌿 Rain Listening — Sit by the window and tune in. Let the rain be your meditation. No fixing, just feeling.

📖 Pocket-Sized Journaling — Write down one thing you’re carrying and one thing you’re ready to release.
Let the page hold it for you, just for today.

Let today be a soft landing, not a sprint. Healing happens in the stillness too.

🌿 “Tune-In Thursday” – Ground to Grow 🌿
Let’s be real — healing isn’t linear, and sometimes your nervous system just needs a little help to feel safe again. Today isn’t about basic grounding — it’s about tuning in to your inner and outer world in a way that actually sticks.

✨ Here are 3 lesser-known grounding techniques to try today:

🌾 Nature Name Game
Go outside (or look out your window). Name the first thing you see that starts with the same letter as your name. Then try the next letter in your name. It’s playful, silly, and gives your brain a focus while anchoring you in the here and now.

🧊 Temperature Shift
Hold something very cold (ice cube, frozen spoon, etc.) or run your wrists under cold water. Say aloud:
“I am here. I can feel this. I am safe now.”
Temperature shocks the nervous system gently and brings awareness to the body fast.

🎨 Texture Trail
Choose 5 different textures around you — touch each one slowly. As you do, describe them to yourself out loud or in writing: “This sweater feels warm and fuzzy, like a soft cloud.”
It helps the brain connect language with physical presence — grounding both the body and the mind.

💬 How are you tuning in today? Drop your favorite grounding trick or just tell us which one you tried. Healing starts with tiny moments of connection. 🌱
