As we continue to navigate COVID-19 together be assured we will remain transparent in our communication at One Therapy, keeping you updated on any developments.
That being said we would like to bring to your attention that one of our massage therapists has tested positive for COVID-19. She is self isolating at home and is doing well in her recovery. She began to have cold like symptoms on Thursday, November 19th in the evening and was tested for COVID-19 on Friday morning November 20th. She received her results back on Sunday, November 22nd with testing positive for COVID-19. She unknowingly came in contact with an infected individual Saturday, November 15th while visiting in a residence located in Drayton Valley.
Rest assured at One Therapy we follow all protocol mandated by Alberta Health with regards to practising with COVID-19. Precautions such as, wearing a level three surgical mask at all times, continual washing of hands, disinfecting all areas with hospital grade disinfectant after each client, changing our scrubs in between each client and treating all soiled linens according to guidelines. The centre was also immediately closed for 72 hours from the onset of symptoms and was thoroughly disinfected. As of today, Monday, November 23 we can safely say we are again open. Because of the consistent and appropriate use of the personal protective equipment and all the other protocols followed, the massage therapist is not considered to be a direct contact person. However, all clients that visited the centre between the dates of November 16th to the 19th have all been notified.
