Good morning team,
Before we move a vehicle — any vehicle — we owe ourselves and everyone around us a simple but powerful step: a full 360° walk-around.
This quick check can prevent injuries, damage, and near-misses that are 100% avoidable.
🔍 Why a 360° Walk-Around Matters
-Every time your vehicle sits — even for a few minutes — things can change around it:
-Someone may have parked closer than before, blocking your turning radius or backing path.
-Tools or equipment may have dropped near your tires without you noticing.
-You might have set something on the ground, on the tailgate, or leaned something against the truck and forgot.
-Children, pedestrians, or coworkers may be walking behind or beside your vehicle.
-Leaks, flat tires, or new damage can show up since the last time you drove.
-A 360 check takes 10–20 seconds and can save you from property damage, injury, or worse.
🛠️ Tips for a Solid 360° Walk-Around
-Start at the driver’s door and move fully around the vehicle in one direction — don’t cut corners.
-Look low and look high — check under the vehicle, around the wheels, and on the bed or roof.
-Check for tools, cones, hoses, or gear that could be crushed or become projectiles.
-Verify no one is standing or walking behind you, especially in busy yards or at home around kids.
-Inspect tires for low pressure, nails, or bulges.
-Look for fresh leaks from hydraulic lines, coolant, or oil.
-If you’re in a tight space, visualize your turn and backing path before getting in.
-At home, do the same — toys, bikes, scooters, pets, and kids can appear out of nowhere.
🧠 Remember
A vehicle accident isn’t bad luck — it’s usually missed awareness.
A 360° walk-around gives you the awareness you need.
P.S.
Take the extra seconds. It’s faster than writing a report, filing a claim, or explaining damage, or letting your family know you left something behind. Your future self will thank you.
