Earlier this morning, Medix EMS published a commentary post regarding the current situation in the United States.
As a society, we recognize that the public holds a wide range of political views. While there may be majority opinions, there are also many differing perspectives that deserve respect and consideration.
As medical professionals, impartiality is a core principle of ethical care. Providing fair, unbiased treatment to anyone in need—regardless of background, belief, or ideology—is a foundational pillar of Medix EMS.
While individual staff members are fully entitled to hold and express personal political views in appropriate personal settings or forums where open and balanced discussion is invited, public-facing company platforms are not such forums. Social media, by its nature, presents a one-sided voice and cannot accurately reflect the diversity of views held by our team.
In this instance, our leadership did not adequately consider the range of opinions represented within our organization. As a result, the post did not align with our code of conduct or fairly represent our staff. For that reason, the post has been retracted.
Medix EMS is a collective of professionals from many communities, religions, ethnic backgrounds, identities, and ideological positions. Despite these differences, our staff are united in upholding—at the highest standard—the shared beliefs of duty of care, mutual respect, and professional integrity.
At a time when the world is increasingly divided by political discourse, Medix remains a place of respect, inclusion, and unity. Our team consciously sets aside personal differences to stand impartially, ensuring that no individual in need of care ever feels vulnerable, excluded, or unrepresented.
Our staff are encouraged to hold their own views outside of their professional duties, with the understanding that when acting as medics or paramedics for Medix EMS, they commit to caring for all individuals equally and without bias. Political beliefs belong to personal autonomy and civic participation—not to the duty of care.
The removal of the original post was not the result of political pressure, nor was it influenced by any single viewpoint. Rather, it reflects our responsibility to uphold neutrality, professionalism, and trust.
We respect our staff and their adherence to the standards we set. This moment of reflection reaffirms our commitment to remaining free of political advocacy in our public communications, ensuring that Medix EMS remains a safe, impartial, and trusted provider of care for all.
