Kwun'atsustul Team Feature!
Dominique!
What is your role? And what do you do on an average week?:
As a Mental Health Counselor, my aim is to support you on your healing journey. Whether you come for individual, family or couples counseling, I bring calm and walk alongside you and wish to co-establish a therapeutic relationship based on trust. With curiosity, compassion, humor, and reverence, I am here to support you in reconnecting to all parts of you. I believe that we are all perfectly imperfect human being with strengths and challenges. Through conversations, embodied and nature-focused grounding practices, I encourage you to (re)connect to your body, the values that matter the most to you and to let go of what no longer serves you.
Outside of connections in community or sessions in office, you can find me co-facilitating Women's group on Tuesdays, from 10-12, or as the on-call counselor on Thursdays. At times, I return 'home' to Sa'qw'thut, our day treatment program, where I first begin my journey with Kwun'atsustul counselling in 2022.
What do you love about your job?:
I love being part of web of support, to witness and support the healing of Quw'utsun members and their families.
What is something you love most about Quw'utsun Culture?:
As a visitor on this land, I have felt welcomed and nourished. The snuw'uy'ulh feeds my heart and spirit, asking my mind to relax a little bit and remain open to what life offers.
