Ts'ewulhtun Health Centre Ts’ewulhtun Health Centre manages public health and communicable disease control and provides health education programs for the Cowichan Tribes

Ts'ewulhtun Health Centre Goals:

1. Delivers programs and services that will encourage and enable individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles
2. Works together with the Cowichan Tribes Council, the Health Advisory Committee, All Services staff, other agencies, and the community to promote an environment, which is supportive of health lifestyle change
3. Incorporates into its programs and services the

traditional ways of the Cowichan people, which demonstrate respect for individuals, families, and the community.
4. Works towards a health service, which is controlled and managed by Cowichan people, and promotes independence, self-determination, and choice.
5. Ensures that the community receives the best care possiblethrough the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of all programs and services offered by the Centre and learning organization practice.
6. Preserves, promotes, and enhances the provision of safe, quality care to members and their families, as well as creates a health work environment or workplace.

Join April DeYaeger, Dietitian, for any or all of these informative sessions focused on wellness, healthy eating and how to live well with diabetes.

The Island Elders Luncheon - Hosted by Cowichan Tribes is Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Cowichan Exhibition Park's Mellor Hall.

Doors open at 11:00am for seating and lunch will be served at 12:00pm.

If transportation is needed for Quw'utsun Sul-hween, please contact Keyona Charlie at (250) 715-3303 before Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

VOLUNTEER AT THE EVENT:

• Volunteers are crucial to the success of this annual event that honours and celebrates the Quw’utsun Elders, and the Elders across Vancouver Island.

• The event is a great opportunity for all ages to volunteer. For our youth, fostering connections and spending time with our Sul-hwen is a valuable experience.

• There are three time slots to choose from: 9:00am - 12:00pm (set up), 11:00am - 2:00pm (lunch service), and 1:00pm - 4:00pm (clean up).

BE A MARKET VENDOR:

• Vendors can secure their space in the market for a $20 fee that helps cover event costs.
• If possible, please bring your own table.

Cowichan Tribes is hiring a Registered Nurse/Health Coach for a full-time, term position with our Slhexun sun ‘ts’ a’ Clinic. Reporting to the Slhexun sun ‘ts’ a’ Clinic Manager, the Registered Nurse/Health Coach is responsible for working within the scope of practice to provide Registered Nursing care within the Primary Care team to provide care to the entire patient population. The Registered Nurse/Health Coach focuses on providing assessment, screening, health lifestyle support, education and chronic disease management with a goal of improving health outcomes and facilitating access to services. This is an exciting opportunity to provide meaningful care to our community members.

Reclaiming Connections is a 10-week trauma-informed, strength-based, culturally infused and relationally focused program by Connect, that is shaped by Indigenous communities to collaboratively support parents and caregivers of youth aged 8-18 years.
