This year, The Hamlets at Duncan and other Vancouver Island Optima Living Retirement Residences properties were thrilled to be part of an outstanding fundraising initiative BC CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION,We took advantage of the chance to display our residents' pictures on a stunning tree at the Bay Centre, where they could be enjoyed by all of Victoria.

The "Festival of Trees" at The Bay Centre is an annual holiday fundraising event that turns the shopping centre into a large display of decorated trees to support the BC Children's Hospital Foundation. Visitors can enjoy the festive display, vote for their favorite tree, and make a donation, with all funds raised going to support the hospital's urgent needs for children in British Columbia. The event features trees sponsored and decorated by local businesses, and is a popular community tradition to kick off the holiday season.

We are honored to have these ladies and others in the sit and stitch group knitting tuques for our annual sock and tuques fundraiser. As of now, 101 have been made. The donation tree will be up next week if you wish to stop in and admire all the beautiful work or donate some sock, tuques or hygiene supplies.
